Meh, singles are some of the best/most accessible songs of his career

Thunder, Cream, Title track, Strollin, Get off are all great

everything else can go imo, should've thrown some of the vault tracks on there in place of songs like Daddy Pop, Jughead, Walk etc

the tapes are not in order. Someone has to go through the vault like Duane & Howe and they have to spend 2 years minimum numbering & re-filing everyth8nh together. 😳

Because if they don’t, we are going to continue to get deluxe editions out of order. 😒

Need to get all of the users in this thread to go and fix the vault with Tudahl, pick the right songs for these releases and order of releases

I was kinda surprised that the estate put out do me baby demo as a single. Not that I had an issue but

With alternates like that I’d make that a separate compilation series.

Because it’s too much to keep going back and forth for a limited edition single. I don’t have the energy for that s***. 😒

But on another note, it looks like Jesse Johnson is vindicated. It is likely he has all the drum machine demos of the first 2 albums. Princey handed them to say “ old man johnson you better study I was doing this before you put your first eyeliner pen to ya face “ 😭

wish they just had a clear plan tbh, SDE for albums/eras, originals for his guide tracks/demos, something for live performances and shows and then maybe rehearsal compilations

They need to talk to king crimson and Grateful Dead marketing dept. They put out releases like turning on a water faucet. How many people they got working? If that’s less than 3 people ….. 😳

Although I hear it’s for a reason. Something to do with copyright permits 50 years release everything recorded or lose ownership

I tell you who they should consult (not me) Joe travers of the Zappa estate. The new box set coming out this week, Omg. This podcast is going to be crazy with the level of detail. The room key, do not disturb, the book, etc

Tbh, they’ve done a pretty good job with the 1999 and Sign ☮️ The Times sets. I do wish these were released in chronological order of course, but I’m glad that his discog is getting this kind of treatment at all tbh.

They’re also starting to do the Protege albums, We got The Time’s debut this year, so hopefully we get the Vanity 6 debut next year

I do hope “Apollonia 6” will have been reissued by 2030 or so.

Diamonds n pearls is being reissued next.

My main point is the estate doesn’t want to wait to find these tapes & sort through them & reissue them in sequence.

Tbh Zappa estate does the same thing. So maybe it is just a timing thing with anniversaries & feeling of what the audience wants to purchase. 🧐

The time debut re-issue is going have to be revisited. I don’t know - it would help to coincide with duane’s books what release they focus on.

But I don’t think Duane is going to skip to diamonds n pearls next. 😳
