Actually bundles would make even more sense

Series x and PS5 disc is 499, Nintendo has nothing close to that range, this gives them room to expand to that price point

If it’s just an optional bundle, Switch will still be available for 199 (lite) /299 (normal) so they’re undercutting the competition in price AND matching their new consoles at the same time.

That's a really good point, I agree with your handheld comments too, sure 1080p would be nice but there's no real reason to have 4K on a handheld, if it's all physically possible that model really could be the way ahead

    Switch Pro Dock

    -external gpu w/ dlss
    -4k output
    -2022, could release with botw2
-compatible with switch and switch oled (obviously)
    -$149

what do y’all think about this move? could explain news that no new switch model upcoming

I think a better option would be what weve been talking about before the oled reveal, so having all that inside of the switch. I dont think the dock having external gpu + dlss is feasible, especially since i think at that point you wouldnt be able to play handheld cause gpu is tied to the dock

What? But it’s the exact same switch and switch oled. Handheld experience is unaffected... It’s a dock. Your response is so confusing lol

When you use the new dock, it’ll been an improved 4k experience, undocked it’ll be the same as before.

The switch already does a much simpler version of what I’m talking about already, by using the additional power to change clock speed. It’ll just use the egpu when docked instead of its own, like how all egpus work when connected

Would you leave unchanged the portable components then? And also why would nintendo only sell docks, or rather, if someone doesnt have a switch and wants One what would be their options? I think what you want can be achieved without putting anything in the dock and its what we have been discussing before the oled announcement. There's no way reputable people heard wrong about dlss and new chip on switch, and they seemingly would be all inside the handheld which makes more sense imo

I've been wanting to pick up animal crossing for a while but will the real time gameplay make it harder for me to play while working full time? Ill probably only have an hour or 2 to play on weekdays (i wanna avoid using the "time travel" method)

Not at all, game is designed to be played for 30-60 minutes every day so that’s perfect

Mario golf ranked mode is alright but I still have some complaints

-3 holes only? These matches are so short.
-they keep super shots on for stroke play, which is odd because these shots have bombing powers which means it benefits you to be the last to shoot. It incentivizes you to wait and not shoot until everyone else has. Dumb

I think Nintendo still isn’t done updating this game. It’s an interesting approach on why all the content/characters aren’t available from the jump.

Im just asking what people think of the idea I’m not trying to prove it’s existence

Yes the internals are irrelevant, I’m just talking about a $149 dock that the 80m+ current switch users can buy and use like any other accessory. Anyone else can obviously just buy a switch and dock together.

It’s just like how you can buy the new oled dock for your current switch, it’ll just be a better dock you can buy for your current switch

I feel like the reason why nintendo is doing gangbusters is because it’s cheap it’s the only way to get a gaming experience with like 300$ at that point i might as well get a ps5

No that’s kinda how your supposed to play animal crossing. You log on for a hour two do your daily stuff and then log off and check in again when you want.
