You can get a Switch 1 pro controller for cheap and use that. Only downside is it won’t wake the console from sleep wirelessly
Pro 2 is worth the money if you want to drop it, the joysticks and D-pad feel amazing.
where would u recommend getting a switch 1 pro controller for cheap? looks like GameStop has them refurbished for $50 which is more than I'd like to pay for a pre owned controller

You can have good luck on eBay finding them for 30-45, but stick drift can be an issue buying them that cheap. FB marketplace is also good since you can test in person, but prices may be higher.
Kind of in a weird place with my S2.
Debating getting a PC handheld again (maybe the Ally X)
But then I do really enjoy the switch 2 form factor etc - I just wonder if I would stop using it
Does anyone else have a S2 and a PC handheld? What do you use each for?
I used my homies steam deck for a while, and I'd basically use it for more "PC-centric" and general use stuff (i.e. emulators, bigger games that wouldn't come to the switch) and just use the switch for more "party"-ish games with multiple local players and the Nintendo exclusives
I also just felt like it was easier to bring a switch around to use on a plane for instance, vs. a steam deck
I got tired of all of the PC switch emulator hullabaloo real quick

Yeah it’s interesting. Still lots to use a switch for so it wouldn’t be totally redundant

i bought one on mercari for $35, in great condition too
How the pro controller cheaper than more joycons, that's crazy
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo unironically see them as 2 controllers

Oh they definitely do
Copped the Mario kart bundle, obv getting bonanza too, but what else is necessary? Boutta run it up with vouchers
Vouchers only work in switch 1 games I believe, are you looking for switch 1 recommendations?
Highly recommend the Xenoblade franchise
I enjoy the novelty of the joycons a lot tho, it's really worth the 85?
Yes
Joycons suck, the pro controller is amazing
And I was one who didn’t like the switch 1 pro controller
Possible that there is a Direct next week.
They’ve been saying that ever week for the past 5 weeks and they were wrong

well a direct soon makes sense, we don’t have release dates for Metroid Prime 4, Kirby, as well as several third party games like Professor Layton, Hyrule Warriors and Silksong. Hades 2 is coming soon too.
Also, for the 40th anniversary they’re doing a direct in September, obviously, so a general direct for all the non Mario stuff soon makes sense, at least by august right? Praying for next week though

Yeah I guess I meant recent switch 1 games that are worth copping
I've had a switch for a while but haven't got an exclusive in a good minute because they all got super easy/kiddy imo. I was gonna get TOTK and wonder off the voucher, wondering if I should get anything else.

Play the xenoblade games if you haven't. I put like 230 hours into XC2 and 150 hours into XC3. So much content for you $ and some of the best games ever made.

Trust the process
enough is enough. the pro 1 controller should wake the system
found a pro 1 controller on FB marketplace for $25. gonna try to cop it today
Are the games upgraded/patched even without expansion packs? Not the extra content, just the resolution/frame rate improvements

it's pretty dang good. outside of the aforementioned issue

With or without drift?

It depends - there's 3 types of upgrades
1. Some games require you to buy an upgrade pack for an extra fee or get an NSO subscription to get the upgraded Switch 2 Edition of the game (for example Zelda BotW & TotK)
2. Some games are free to upgrade (for example Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 3, ARMS etc)
3. Some games have not received any intentional upgrades but the stronger hardware automatically makes them run at a more stable framerate
