We gotta be getting a new 3D Mario announcement alongside the Switch 2, right?

    S***, it’s been 7 years.

Odyssey 2 so soon… I chose to believe

If we being really, we unfortunately aren’t getting Odyssey 2. We never get 3D mainline sequels. We got it once with Galaxy 2 and that was like what? 3-4 years after Galaxy 1?

It’s been 7 years since Odyssey. A sequel would be amazing but it’s too late at this point

Plus, Bowser’s Fury was a mini mainline 3D Mario game that I feel hinted at where we’re going next with Mario: an “open world” type game

Bowser’s Fury was awesome. Felt like a DLC campaign. I think that is where we’re going

Odyssey was nice but I have no interest in a sequel. I want something new and fresh. Something…next-gen.

Why would you even want an odyssey 2 after 7 years tbh, its more exciting to get something totally new

    Yeah it’s too late unfortunately

I just feel they still had a lot they could work with for a sequel but it def feels too late

Bowser’s Fury def felt like a preview of what’s next so I’m extremely excited for what’s next

eh odyssey 2 could be totally new, I don’t think the name necessarily restricts them that much, but cappy would have to return.

if I had to guess I’d say it’s probably a new super mario title, super mario infinity or something like that lol

Reminds me of a certain japanese gaming company that's doing quite well recently
Although it cost them two generations of home consoles

Honestly the birth of PlayStation and 3rd parties ditching nintendo's ass in n64 era was a blessing in disguise, cause thats a big reason behind their business model and success now

If you compare 3rd party support on the snes and n64, you'll see an enormous difference. They lost their biggest supporters that generations, because the n64 wasnt easy to develop for and they used cartridges instead of disks which meant smaller file sizes so PS1 ports werent possible. And it would continue with the GameCube until the Wii became so successful 3rd parties had to drop something on it, and still many of the most acclaimed and popular games wouldnt release on wii.
Of course none of this applies for their portables, they were all successful and had 3rd party support from the jump
