what did I miss today
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom coming in September, new mainline game featuring playable Zelda as the protagonist with the classic 2D top-down style by the team that did Links Awakening remake
First new Mario & Luigi game in 9 years coming in November
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond announced for 2025, looks cross-gen tbh
This zelda game rlly might end up being the goat for me, that gameplay was hitting on every single level. Nintendo went absolutely nuts with this direct, there are way too many must cops here
As a huge Kendrick stan, we need rats as the final boss, I suggested them to mocap @Water_Giver for it
U laugh but them rats aint laughing when the eclipse is in retrograde
Mario rpg revival. That's what I love to see.
SMRPG, TTYD, and Brothership in the span of a year
straight heat
I mean I really doubt the switch can handle that at 60fps which is what the trailer looked like unless I’m tripping
There’s like 5-6x more stuff happening in the background compared to prime remastered, all those moving assets with their own animations and effects. I have a hard time believing it would run that smooth on switch.
Switch version definitely 720p and 30fps
Switch 2 4k 60fps
Need both Metroid Prime 2 and 3 announced for this Direct coming up, bonus if we get an update on Prime 4

Just need 2 and 3 this fall/winter and I'm good

Nah Switch can definitely run Prime 4 at a locked 60.
Only difference between both versions will be 4K and maybe better textures

I guess we’ll see
Very curious if Echoes of Wisdom will run well considering Links Awakening constantly jumped from 60 to 30
If it doesn’t run well it’s kind of a bummer this wasn’t pushed to 2025 as a cross-gen title
It’s been 5 years though so it’s possible they’ve ironed out the issues
i expect a lot of games to be cross-gen
iirc someone looked at the TTYD files & saw optimization for a resolution that currently isn’t available on even the OLED Switch, so i’d assume most Switch games releasing in 2025 will be optimized for cross-gen
What do we know / what have we heard about the new console?
If TTYD had files for it, it’s safe to assume it will be able to run regular Switch games, but will you be able to move your digital purchases over?
It will also probably keep the Switch Online emulators and everything, since they’re still adding more.
Is it just gonna be a big hardware boost, essentially? They’ve gotta have a few big titles up their sleeve that won’t run on Switch, if they want it to sell well.

President said your Nintendo account transfers over to switch 2 so it’s safe to say your purchases and cloud save data will as well
I don’t think so regarding your last point, the big games at switch launch were botw and mk8 which were both on Wii U as well and obviously switch still sold very well so no “true” exclusives are not necessary for switch 2 to sell well tbh
