Safe to say we’re technically in Direct week right
My hopes & dreams:
Not expecting much from the last Direct before Switch 2 is unveiled, but those three announcements/showings would make a solid Direct for me
New Animal crossing on switch 2 is gonna be so insane because you know that they’re getting a big ass check for that budget lmao
44m copies is insane, quickly passing botw and odyssey… those are flagship titles had been out since 2017… f***ing crazy
They should’ve kept updating ACNH rather than abandon it altogether.
And Splatoon 3 should’ve been made for Switch 2 instead.
Now we probably have to wait even longer for Switch 2’s own Splatoon entry cus they’re probably all hands on deck for the potential new Animal Crossing game on Switch 2.

I need a Splatoon Battle Royale on Switch 2

Rumor has it that it’s a Partner showcase or a Mini of some sort. If that is true then we may not get news these first party games.

A BR-based Splatoon game sounds like hell tbh lol
But I do believe that Splatoon should’ve gone free-to-play a long time ago..

That’s actually a prediction from Nate the Hate, not one of his rumours
Damn a Partner Showcase looking realer now
That potentially means NO Prime 4 soon; maybe they’re saving it for the Switch 2 reveal.

Yeah, I’m thinking they’ll save their heavy hitter first party announcements for the Switch 2 reveal that is (rumored) next month.
Tbh anyone expecting any real heavy hitters or a good direct this late into Switch's cycle was kinda delusional
I just want Switch 2 info, really don't care about any current Switch games, cause this hardware is just so outdated at this point

I just want news on nso. I actually love the gba service as it was my second handheld so I have a lot of memories with it. Playing golden sun, fire emblem, Mario and Luigi has been great. Never played those games before.

3DS was well-supported even post-Switch, so I don’t think anyone’s even a teensy bit delusional for believing that Nintendo will throw one last solid Direct for what is likely their most successful console of all time.
No one’s really expecting them to announce a bunch of heavy hitters at this point.
Remakes are a safe route for releasing new games late in the lifespan of a platform, and Prime 4 was announced all the way back in 2017; it seems reasonable to expect some update on that project since it was 5 years ago that the development reboot was announced.

Me realizing that Nintendo/Game Freak may never add the classic Pokémon games to NSO

True, but with the news of the Switch 2 being announced soon, I feel like there was never any chance of them doing a proper direct and announcing new games just for the spotlight to be taken away from them with a potential March announcement of the Switch 2
Side Order Overview is finally release. Need to see if the DLC will be worth it.

Fresh Season Shown too wow

These S3 trailers could’ve been shown in a new Direct..
In other words, it’s over

Yeah I’m sure until like 2025 or 2026 the directs will discuss switch and switch 2 releases, they won’t abandon switch anytime soon
The switch family is just growing, it’s not really the end of an era

They saying the fact that it’s a partner direct bodes well for a Switch 2 reveal though

And if they’re too stingy between the 3 companies to put it on nso surely they could have put it on the eshop. Even just the gbc games would print money

Indeed they would; PKMN Crystal was the #1 best-seller on the 3DS eShop for years
However it is gonna look stingy af of them to sell it on the eShop while there’s already a Game Boy service that is in need of some worthwhile content to prop it up (the current selection of games is severely lacking).
I don’t mind a slight price increase for NSO (let’s say $10 max for the yearly individual plan); just put the goddamn PKMN games on there ffs

Two highly-anticipated Switch games announced at least 5 years ago tryna one-up each other in "who can go the longest without releasing"
