I did that with TOTK since I didn’t wanna support that $70 price tag. (And speaking of performance, the earlier section of the game on Great Sky Island had such atrocious performance. I would’ve been furious if I paid $70 for that s***. Fortunately the game runs well afterwards.)

Yeah but the circumstances are quite unique, especially if there’s cross-gen releases I think switch will still sell really well years into the release of switch 2. Like what happened with the PS2 after the PS3 dropped. Not to mention they could do a price drop. Like maybe Switch 2 coming in at $400 and oled dropped to $300 with reg Switch dropped to $250

It’s not the first time Nintendo would’ve done this.
They waited till early 2015 to officially announce New 3DS for NA and Europe territories, despite said system being announced in 2014 already for Japan and Australia.
They knew if the NA and Europe branches announced the new system before the holidays despite the launch being planned for after that period, it would eat away at their holiday sales, in the eyes of casuals of course.
