It would be year 6 of the switch actually so not uncommon for nintendo really. And i dont really know what Nintendo will market it as, and tbh it doesnt really change anything, as long as its a upgrade. If its a tangible upgrade they could market it as a successor tho, and it seems to be the case

Haven't gotten far in MH Rise yet but these quality of life updates are crazy Auto craft, resource collecting only taking half a second, everything's so much more streamlined than MH Tri. And the Wirebug is too fun to use

got my year end numbers from nintendo

• diablo 2: resurrected - 182 hours

  (what’s sad is this only came out at the end of september and i play on PC too lol, so between PC, Switch, and xbox i’m probably closer to 800+ i bet )

• super mario maker 2 - 130 hours

(no surprise, it’s my most played switch game with 550+ hours

• hades - 62 hours

(great game, got addicted to it for awhile)

year end review:

• hades - 145 hours (pretty much sank all my free time into this at the start of the year, stopped playing once i got a few 32 heat clears though)
• diablo 3 - 105 hours (only rly play this at season start now but that s*** still adds up ig)
• SMT3 nocturne - 53 hours (my first megaten game and it was a great introduction imo, having a blast with smt5 now too)

glad i got to play a good variety of games this year, last year i sank 500 hours into D3 and didnt play too much else

as for favorite switch game i played this year its probably hades but DMC3 and metroid dread are also right up there

Nintendo last year said that they're barley halfway through the switches lifecycle, so I doubt we'll see that by 2023 lol.

yeah but they continue to say that the switch is an ecosystem of gaming. So an upgrade would likely be more like the New 3DS I'd guess.
