Hope Prime 4 shatters dread numbers so Nintendo can realize 2d platforming is a dead medium in 2021
Do people really believe Nintendo‘s gonna release a Switch 2 in March 23? Why the hell would they refresh it now with an OLED model to be apart of a line that’s dead in less than 2 years from now? The OLED is here to replace the current base switch for the next few years.
I just wrapped up dread on 100% f***ing loved it and I hope everyone who bought the game enjoyed it as much as I did

It could be a successor, it could be a revision, we dont know yet, but we do know devkits exist and are at developers hands and usually it doesnt take too long for new hardware to come out after devkits.
Also, nintendo in the 3ds gen released many revisions close to eachother, sometimes even close to its successor, same with the ds and gba gens really, so it wouldnt be anything out of the ordinary to them.
With that being said, i wouldnt be surprised if this new hardware released around march 2023 with either botw2 (which would have to be delayed since its still listed as a 2022 title), new 3d mario, new mario kart or metroid prime 4 (all of these would also be available to switch imo, if its actually a successor i think nintendo would take the same approach microsoft and sony are taking rn, with the "next gen" versions of course performing better).
With time we'll know more, as more people are gonna naturally give more info on what it is, and then we'll have a clearer picture

Are you kidding? Why would it be dead? You think everyone will want to throw down for an expensive 4k pro console?
Nah the regular oled switch will be sold alongside the pro and that will be the new lineup. They’ll probably drop the oled to $300 and sell the pro for $400-500

I’m talking about a full-blown successor, GBA compared to GB, not the Gameboy Color.

I don’t think it would come out so soon, but they have released outdated hardware after new systems came out in the past. Gameboy Micro after the DS was out, 2DS XL after the switch, etc etc. So I guess it’s not completely unbelievable

oh my bad, yeah you’re right. people are trippin’
like nintendo said switch will have a longer lifespan than usual, and we haven’t even hit 5 years yet. my guess is switch pro is announced in late 2022 and the full successor like 3 years after that
How you guys feel when not playing the game. How I'm feeling while waiting for my copy to arrive.

Can’t stop thinking about Dread at work
And now you dread going to work because you can't play Dread

Yep, similar to Cruisin’ Blast in a sense
I’ve played it a bit more now and I completely forgot it had these party/mini games. This is a really fun game
Was thinking of getting Dread but I’ve never even played through Super Metroid so I should probably do that first lol
Dread looks really cool tho
Any OLED owners use a grip for handheld mode? The Zengrip pro for OLED have pre-orders up and won’t ship til late JANUARY
This is an essential accessory and I can’t play Switch in handheld mode without one. That doubles down for OLED. No grip, no OLED for me.
Hype for Dread has been unreal, may have to cop this weekend. I was trying to hold out for OLED but I heard through reviews it’s best using the pro controller anyways so this sounds like a docked game even though it’s a 2D side scroller.
