What I did( and still do) when I didnt have access to making beats due to my PC crashing, was study the chord progressions in my favorite songs and watch videos on music theory. It helps a lot.
that's crazy that producers and engineers put all this effort over the years and there are rappers who can pick it up in months. do you feel like you have a lack of respect for those who didn't put in the time like you?
Fuels my anxiety tbh

why? do you think they are making a mockery of the art form?

I've sacrificed a lot of time and put in a lot of effort into music. Seeing someone pick it up and already make moves in the industry just makes me anxious about if ill ever make it or not.

I produce and im an artist too so not really. Its two whole different ball games and some people progress faster than others but i never like to hate on others i always look to find inspiration in and respect what they did but we all have different paths. I like to look at other people’s success as motivation to do that or better. I have a friend who has only been producing for two years and dude has two songs on Spotify with over 100k each and growing and i was talking to this one producer named vegyn a while ago and he was telling me that he wasnt even producing for that long and he dude made literally one of the most classic songs that everyone agrees is fire. Some people take years tho but we should always learn from others success instead of hate on it because there’s important things we need to learn and we have to be accepting of everyone no matter what and not get caught up in our own feelings because were not where we want to be because that will only stunt your growth

everyone's in their own stage and pace, and will know and learn different things at different times
i'd say to focus on yourself only, but that i feel may have influenced being too self-critical
it's all abt finding a balance, ig?
Shiit whats a mockery of the art form is having someone send you sample loops while you add some drums to it then call yourself a super-producer ( Southside)

growth mindset, all exchanges are situations where each party has something to learn
so cool youve talked to vegyn lmfao

Prove your skill to those who matter + Finesse your way into those spaces and positions
That's the ultimate goal ofc but the challenge is the road there

Bro deadass ive seen people not even make drums and they’ll just use splice loops or premade patterns and not do much of anything themselves i mean im not gonna hate but man never in my life will i make anything that i didnt have full hands on with or create myself

Dude its easy to talk to anyone you just have to go and do it. Only reason i got to talk to him was because i went and messaged him and was genuine. I didnt even know if he would answer or not but i was like f*** it the worst that happens is that he doesnt answer. Just don't spam people like most people do lmaooo. I've talked to Mitus/Keyon Christ too he follows me on IG and twitter too just gotta go and talk to em
In life for whatever you want you just have to ask for it because you never know if theyll say yes
Even if 1/100 will say yes thats at least one yes and if you ask 10000 people thats 100 people that said yes

Bro dont even show your work show your energy. The work means nothing if you dont have the right energy. Plus you want to create personal connections so just talk to them like a normal person dont show your music it can feel like spam if they dont really know you because everyone does that to them and could cut things off quick.
