it depends on the track but like for the track i did for the beat comp (that i shoulda won
) i didn't even have any of that stuff i mentioned except i think i cut some highs outta the drums. a lot of it also comes down to sound selection for me.
but besides that i do a lot of automation, some reverb, granular synthesis, etc. on my stuff. i think a lot of automation and panning is what makes my drums sound so good on some of my s***, but when i break it down it really isn't anything special tbh.

U got templates set up, I feel like I need some.

not really, i should bc it would prob make my workflow a lil faster, but i usually just pull the s*** up and know what presets i like and tweak it a lil if i have to.
i do have templates for vocals though but that's way different.
She did the beat tag
. Shorty listens to my songs not knowing I’m writing lyrics that are unflattering
It’s not about just releasing it at all there’s a whole business side to it as well. I could have the EP finished right now and release it with none of the business end ready at all and it could and most likely would flop no matter how good it was. I’m not all set but I’m on the right path

Check out vinyl by izotope it’s free
Also you can do it with eq also but you won’t have things like grain and static but you can use a combination of the two

yeah this can be done with just some plugins you dont need a bunch of money or pro equipment for it. also check out hard vaccum by airwindows its a free plugin that will give you an extremely similar feeling to a***og warmth without gimmicky s***
How to stop being lazy?
Edit: for those who have overcome being unproductive/laziness, how did you do it?
nobody can make you stop being lazy only you can and youll never take control over your own life until you realize its in your control and only you make your own decisions not anybody else
clyp.it/cyatt2ju unfinished but been trying to make my s*** more simple

what daw do you ? How do you do your automation ?
Record out some Spotify and find samples to flip
Brian Eno discog is sample flipping on easy mode
chop out some bits of a song, reverse a few, filter it, etc into a 4 bar loop and you won't even be able to recognize the source
Yeah when I hear long synth pads I like to speed them up and reverse them. No drums no nothing in Eno's songs lol

Saturation, low samples rate with a low pass filter, Logic pro's stock amps. Adding vinyl crackle foley. Tube saturation on the master
