There’s an interview where he said when he was younger his mother stole his Supreme Clientele CD and his uncle stole his Muddy Waters CD (might have who stole what mixed up), which feels like the closest he’s come to straight naming influences outside of name-dropping people like Mobb Deep and Biggie in songs. Who knows, though.
