the contamination s*** sucks, tons of sympathy for that having gone through it when I was younger

and you're right about the only one stopping me being me, but when the dopamine or serotonin or whatever isn't there, music just doesn't work the way it used to for me, ya know

I've gotten better than I was a few years ago for sure, but I still have a lot of trouble getting things to "stick". Like I can listen to a song 20 times and still not even remotely know the lyrics, whereas I used to pick that s*** up easily.

I can still listen to a song in the moment and appreciate the lyrics and instruments and whatnot, but there's not a lot of emotional reaction anymore, and it's really hard to make me feel compelled to revisit stuff these days, when I used to listen to a new album I liked a hundred times

theres a few artists i've sperged out on over the last few years ( ), 12 Rods being one of the major ones. Didn't have much trouble at all remembering their lyrics funny enough. Probably because Ryan Olcott writes a really compelling "simple" song in a poppier style

Most rappers don't sell well. He's in a similar lane to young thug for most of his career

He's like known by most and has a super loyal fanbase

But your average person isn't sitting there listening to entire YB albums for them to sell well. Partially because his albums aren't even structured like albums

They are just giant playlists to pick a couple songs from

He puts out way too much music for people to hype up album drops and for them to sell well

He's probably making more money than some of these guys that sell better than him anyway because he's independent

So it probably doesn't even matter to him

He also owns his masters for the most part

Like just from a business perspective regardless of his albums selling less he's smarter than most of his peers

Even though he says crazy stupid things
