not where i live, its a bit too south. but on the island if you went to the northern tip at the right time you could.

ive never seen them and always wanted to.

it is extremely peaceful. something i miss about it when i live away. its all nature and isolation and stuff.

yes there are polar bears. but the island is the size of new york state, i live in the southern tip where there are none. they are only in the northern tip, which is like a 12 hours drive away. they are uncommon, because they usually only float here on ice pieces by accident and the government tranquilizes them and flies them back. but they do come here and live here!

and my familly hunts! they hunt moose, ocean murs and rabbits.

ive never gone out and shot a gun hunting though. ive only fished and caught lobster

Not to kill the vibe or anything, but I think a lot of it has to do with how bad my mental got after I left high school

In a lot of ways it helped me discover a ton of new music that I probably never would’ve checked out otherwise

But during this period I’ve kinda had this thing in the back of my head like “you can really get into these artists and genres you’re checking out when your brain lets you again, in the meantime, sample what you can”

Idk if that makes any sense

All of that to be said, there have been bands I’ve found during that time period that I have gotten really into, and I’m certainly not incapable of getting any enjoyment from music, I just know I would’ve been like a super fan and ultra knowledgeable if my head was in a better spot

nah im in similar boat even though i, older. i have the contamination thing, if i hear something from an era i had issues with, I have a hard l time listening to it again. and sometimes something happens and i associate something new with something negative

so im always searching for a new thing. except some old favourite that seem immune to it or somthing idk

but like you said this led to me finding loads of new music i woudlnt of otherwise, which is a w

also im i dont practise what i preach, but ur the only one getting in the way of throwing yourself into an artist, if thats what u enjoy then i think you gotta let yourself sperg out
