doors r magnificent. s/t and la woman are must listens
Knowing his taste he’s gonna be disappointed in LA woman lol I can see Morrison Hotel being his fav
All groups you mentioned are legendary and household staples. Especially The Doors. Probably one of the only bands my dad and mom agrees on. I’d suggest giving them a listen around the time you do The Beach Boys, that way you can feel the contrast between the sunny side and dark side of LA. The beach and sunflowers and the night life and alleyways
hmm the doors or the cure

not into more rougher blues rock huh. it’s funny bc morrison used to be my fav doors, found it more accessible than their other stuff
can’t go wrong w any of those albums (except those post morrison albums)
hmm the doors or the cure

both. best of 2 worlds

my top 3 tracks
michelle - my new fav beatles song
drive my car - working 4 peanuts is all very fine ![]()
i’m looking thru u - very relatable, just hitting hard rn
least favorite song
if i needed some1 - it’s not a bad song but i can’t see myself randomly hearing this outside the context of this album & saying aye turn that up
save me’s rating after 2 listens - 8/10
opinions are subject 2 change

Morrison Hotel is easier to get into but the only thing that's not sending over the moon is that it lacked the major hit. Roadhouse Blues ended up becoming legendary in its own right, "the people's champ" but it doesn't have the same oomph as Light My Fire, People are Strange or Riders on the Storm. That's the only mark on Morrison Hotel but it's probably their most cohesive album and that has to count for something. We had a user that did a doors sit through like @saveme is doing with the Beatles and he was disappointed in LA Woman because it was hyped up as their best but the sum of its parts were greater than the whole.

I can't remember. It wasn't in a Doors thread. I think it might've been @HeyFella

hey i know that guy
he’s the 1 who thinks halloween ends was a good film, funny guy
like it’s actually kinda crazy how much better rubber soul is than the rest of the albums b4 it
they seem like a completely different band, like everything started 2 finally click
i’m not really excited about the psychedelic stuff coming up but they’ve gained my trust
Told you

I think it was him but it could've been someone else but I remember agreeing that LA Woman wasn't what it was hyped up to be. His reaction reminded me of newer Beatles listeners when they hear Sgt. Pepper for the first time and realize it wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread and there's at least 3 Beatles albums that are better lol
This Ab-Soul album made me teary-eyed. It was heavy but also cathartic. Y’all probably feel this way about Mr. Morale.
Yep
inviting all my friends 2 my safe place

honestly i could make that same argument for waiting for the sun, tho i think it’s a bit weaker. i can see why la woman wouldn’t hit somebody right out of the gate, title track and riders on the storm tower over the rest of the album and even i can agree w that.
@Warren_Peace Just in case you do want to represent a favorite artist and plan a match for 2023.
