better than his s*** music? surely right??
im not falling for round 2 of camille bait
this important too.
i was talking to u about this before.
a lot of artists get all caught up in the technical stuff and forget to take a step back and ask does it hit?
and its important to step back and do that. since it is at the end of the day, one of the biggest parts of the art lol
Idk if I really like art even I think I'm gonna stop doing it but yeah that makes sense

ya one of my fav things about art, especially visual art is you cna look at it any way you want. If you wanna look at a davinci for only its colour, you can. if you wanna judge jackson pollock’s abstract art from the perspective of a figure drawing and anatomy, you can. you can always isolate elements and everybody has thing they look for and negate.
personally i mostly enjoy composition so thats what im searching
for. but some people dont care about that at all and only care about the meaning and context and message and everything. which is cool too. some people only care about the historical context of a piece! art historians!
so theres def a lot of valuable things to take from his work from the perspective of a historian, emotional messages, context of who he was and where he made it etc. but that’s usually an afterthought with my taste.

whether he is dumb, i honestly have no idea. obviously you have to be smarter than a lot of people to become president, even if your dad was president before you. he clealry was a poor public speaker. morality aside, he navigated doing things for his donors wanted that the population didnt (like starting wars), whether to torture people, how to spy on people etc. which are really crazy things to wrap your head around. how far do you go for your donors desires, how much public flak can you take and still keep your job. he was obviously succesful at it, which requires intelligence for sure
Beautiful thing about art in general. I listen to plenty of music that I’d probably rate badly when looking at it broadly but there will be one aspect of it that I appreciate or am trying to learn so I keep coming back to it.
and yeah, I dont think he’s necessarily the Family Guy parody irl but he does have an airhead reputation so it’s interesting to see him paint something that’s so (literally) self-reflective.
Kill yourself
these are a lot better. the first one not so much, although obviously his rendering and stuff is pretty strong.
but the second ones compostion is pretty solid. he obviously studied!
big bob clearly knows a thing or two I agree

for sure!
also another thing about it being reflective. i wonder how much of his paintings are only him, or partially made by him or done by other people for propaganda purposes.
do people vet the pieces he makes before theyre shown? are certain themes suggested to him?

to my knowledge its all Bush bro
you shoudl never stop making art thats insane
It's kinda lame a little bit
Like to get good you have to work a lot and study and off to do all that
But if you don't do that you are basically doodling like a child would
And I don't really like looking at art or learning about art so why would I care to create art

when its the 70’s and Im unable to locate the c***oris

you know that caravaggio i showed you earlier with the cow and the angel splitting the canvas in two? and how the right side was pushing in with a landscape and the left side was pushing out with the cow.
notice how bob dylan’s second painting uses an extremely similar composition.
divided in the middle. left side is in the foreground with the man pushing toward the viewer. and the right side is a scenic painting pushing away.
Fox McCloud voiced by Tom Cruise should be a thing
im gonna agree with you kdog!

because the only thing that matters about art is whether you personally enjoy what you made and if you had fun making it.
everything else is secondary to that. even if youre a professional.
if you dont enjoy what you make and it doesnt look like you enjoyed the process of making what you did, it will show and you wont be able to make a living off it
you dont have to study something and “get good” to make something meaningful to you or other people.
i only do things the way i do because thats what ive always enjoyed. i love studying and learning about it. that doesnt make what i do more or less valid than somebody else. its just what i enjoy. dont stop making what you enjoy making because you dont like an optional part
you right
same sides too
yup literal same sides!
that abstract part of painting and drawing is my like whole life’s studying!!
hard to explain it unless youre able to point it out like that.
its no surpise he knows that stuff though because music is very similar. playing on opposites, contrasts, making rhythms.
he already had those concepts down when he started painting and jsut had to change the language of it
