yeah this guy can paint in spades too. he started as a figure painter. he knows his stuff. he just switched to abstractionism later on.

this is like very well thought out. the simplicity makes it pretty hard to do.

a lot of art critics who dont know their stuff and people who just casually enjoy art (which is great) either dismiss stuff like that for being simple or gas up garbage because they cant tell the difference.

and then when the garbage gets gassed up people lump the real deal into it and it all gets dismissed.

ok fr last one i gotta start my work.

this is jackson pollock, these are worth like 150+ million dollars.
these are huge btw theyre like a wall in size.

it looks like scribbles like a kid could do it.
and it doesnt have most of the other compostion stuff liek the other paintings.

but what makes it special is that he created fractals. and if you use computer a***ysis on fakes, you can often tell theyre fakes becasue theyre not fractals.

also in brain scans when they show people his paintings and then pictures of natural fractals like flowers, the same parts fo the brain light up. unlike in fakes.

he also to my knowledge invented this technique and it was really controversial at the time (40s)

he also is a serious painter, his figure drawings and stuff are spot on.

thats a technically difficult painting to make too? like i can respect it as art and the thought process but i wouldve still assumed it doesnt require a huge amount of skill (which i dont doubt he has)

this is an abstract painting by lorser feteilson

it was done in the 60s.

the lines pushing into eachother to create a pressure, then a big c shape curve in the middle to create contrast with the open at the top.

you could easily turn the same composition into something similar to what el Greco did. idk if u can see that, but look at how the hills fall and and rise and see how the C shaped curves are so similar.

this looks really simple, but its the same underlying composition thought process as used in figure drawings or landscapes.
