I mean if you don't find guitar fun don't learn it. I find piano fun, its cool to learn and when I play something right I get a lil dopamine hit and thats nice.

You said you would rather choose something fun, to me piano is fun. To you that may be something else and thats okay too.

Sometimes learning stuff that isn't really "useful" can just be fulfilling. For your own personal enjoyment. I used to like beat myself up for watching TV because I wasn't being "productive". But I learned over time that the human body needs relaxing stuff like that to decompress so I can be high performant in the times I need to be.

Idk I'm not tryna argue with you on it, sorry if its coming across that way, just yapping about my perspective on the topic.

if i was in a manic episode or something it would be fun to set a deadline of like 6 months/1 year to pick up a guitar for the first time and I must have a finished album at the deadline

i actually think i feel competitive about piano tho. like i have a few friends who can play, theyve played since kids etc. i wanna be better than them and be able to say i did it in my late 20s and in like less than a year or whatever it ends up being. not to be mean to them its just my own internal need for competition.
