One of my guys said I’m like an optimistic anime character i was so salty
Maybe I’m too practical. Like if I learned to play guitar right now, what would I do with that? The world has no limits so I’d rather choose something fun but also more useful
playing an instrument or creating art/drawing/painting is just a way to silence the world for a small amount of hours a day and retreat though
at it's core that's all ur doing escaping for a bit in something that calms u

I mean if you don't find guitar fun don't learn it. I find piano fun, its cool to learn and when I play something right I get a lil dopamine hit and thats nice.
You said you would rather choose something fun, to me piano is fun. To you that may be something else and thats okay too.
Sometimes learning stuff that isn't really "useful" can just be fulfilling. For your own personal enjoyment. I used to like beat myself up for watching TV because I wasn't being "productive". But I learned over time that the human body needs relaxing stuff like that to decompress so I can be high performant in the times I need to be.
Idk I'm not tryna argue with you on it, sorry if its coming across that way, just yapping about my perspective on the topic.

But I guess they are old and still perform
I read a tweet that (paraphrasing) said if you think you will have a major moment that blows the doors open off talent alone you’re already lost and it nuked my brain
I think it’s important to just do things because it’s never going to happen for you so what’s to lose
One of my guys was a hobbyist DJ, put it down and worked a desk job for like 10 years then picked it back up a few years ago and performed at Coachella last weekend you are never finished, the door to your dreams is never completely closed. You can always become some version of your ideal self

I definitely believe in manifestation and the law of attraction but also you gotta just have no expectations at the same time

You could play guitar and have fun! :)
if you got good $$ to spend you can become pretty high level at almost anything. maybe not pinnacle, but higher than 90% of other people just off money alone.

Yeah for sure, I’m not devaluing art at all. I don’t think, most people, who would pick up a guitar for the first time in their 30s are setting out to make art or express themselves though. Like 99% are going to become good enough to play twinkle twinkle little star and then quit.

Fully agree, I think they’re heavily related. It’s like you have to think and feel deeply and then just completely let go. That’s when it comes

Yeah like position yourself in a direction and with supreme confidence jump off that metaphorical ledge

It's like you have to lose yourself in the moment and never let it go
