I mostly agree. That job is important, and those who fill that position should be respected for doing it.

But a kid entering the workforce with their entire life ahead of them is not passionate about doing it. They’re there to make money while they study a subject they’re actually interested in in college.

the point is that the odds are becoming increasingly against their favor

to the point where trying doesn’t feel justified now. it’s an economic issue way before it’s an issue about being babied by parents and school teachers.

You do get paid more as you climb the ladder (again depending on the job). But you never climb the ladder if you have no work ethic. You can only operate in the system we have. It’s not an ideal system but there are ways to subvert it. None of those ways are being a lazy victim.

If your wages are becoming increasingly less attractive against rising prices, you’ll naturally find yourself disillusioned with the whole system. I’m not gonna say that “no child left behind” policies or participation trophies didnt factor in some form, but its far far far more of an economic issue before anything else.
