    Oh

    I don't think that's sad

Skills don't have to be valuable forever

They probably looked at copying text as an artform before the printing press

Nobody would do that today it's just stupid. Same thing with music in the future

You lost something old to gain something new

If the results don't get worse I don't see the issue

right, but there’s something a bit sad about that.

but like I said to PB, those old processes are replaced by new processes and they’re valuable too

ai generated art, largely doesn’t present the same trade off.

I think some of the trade off is still there but it's just less equal. Just speaking generally

Kinda like the idea I think ET was talking about where id say genuine creativity, human ingenuity and artistic vision is very possible in works that would use generative AI. But it just starts to be in a different realm at that point and there's a weird idea of trading partial authorship of the work that we haven't really had to think about before

Def rambling now and just bored at work

    mhm yeah

like to an extent there’s an art to “prompting” but like you said its not an equal trade off for what it’s replacing

I hate this convo btw. No what I mean is that people who are into loli would probably be into the real stuff. But AI stuff could replace real stuff. I mean, my point earlier was that I’m not into adult cartoon p*** but could easily be into AI p*** as a replacement for adult real p***.

And my point was an extreme example bc it is an awful convo was people would find a way to use ai p*** to be disgusting with it. Humans ruin everything they touch.

Ai p*** would be no more ethical than deep fakes to extent (the original thread of this convo) bc yes you could have it generate a completely un real person based on real images (semi more ethical than deep fakes kinda) but not everyone will. What’s to stop someone from ai ing a celeb into a p*** atp aka a deep fake and then the extreme being the topic we were on

People learn outdated skills to do things in outdated ways just as a hobby and for fun all the time

And theres people who are still fans of those things that have a special appreciation for the people who can still do it

That's cool but the world won't stop turning just because you don't wanna go with it and I can't necessarily say it's worth crying over
