that part is fine, but talking about guns, and inviting competition when you’re not actually about it.. is goofy

Maybe he meant competition as far as bringing bars (to give benefit of the doubt) in a friendly way when making songs together

He’s not the type to engage in beef truly. His best diss was against Kanye and it wasn’t even mean spirited

Also when I say lame argument it’s not aimed at you directly Joy Stick I mean like in the general discourse of it all

Oh I know. lol! :) Trust me discussing it gets me irritated again and not at your or anyone it's at Cole lmao.

If drake wins the beef he will win a lot for respect fr

I dont kendrick wins anything with the beef but drake does

I just don’t even think there’s is a winning here atp

Drake no matter how good he does here will always be sullied by the ghost writing, the Pusha diss, and the fact that he’ll never be respected the way Kendrick will be legacy wise which is deep down what I think he would rather have idk

I am a stan so I am not trying to diminish him, At the same time hip hop is about competition. And when you go on wax saying nobody can touch me and a challenge is made you better defend your position. Friend or not. He is not about that part of hip hop and that's okay. A lot of my faves would be considered "soft" It's about hip hop. I grew up in the 90's so I want to see a battle.

The soft part killed me lmao

Idk I def see both sides to it but I very much respect him for just saying he’s not with it. He just should have never dropped the diss in the first place tho, this was never him

I have a pro-Cole sentiment to share for once:

I find it silly that songs like Foldin Clothes and Wet Dreamz get made fun of for discussing the more vulnerable or mundane aspects of life. Cole is giving you vignettes into his life, on a personable level, in a way most can relate to. Is it particularly “cool” to rap about those things? I suppose not, but I also dont think the genre has to be that one-dimensional.

Id even go as far to say that’s his greatest strength as a lyricist — the willingness to go there. But fans wanna praise him for fake deep bars instead.

He was but as I said he is not built for the other side of hip hop. He is about rapping but not about actually fighting to prove his worth.

    I don't understand

Why he was saying for the last 5 years

    That he would kill Anyone

    And soon as Kendrick breaths
    He folds

Personally love folding clothes, I think what makes J Cole likable is his relatability to the everyday normal person which is ironically what he also gets so much s*** for.

Sometimes being a normal human is corny and it’s okay to share that lmao I agree genre will die if it’s all super serious guns s***

I’ve always found this to be, simultaneously, his greatest strength and downfall as an artist.
