you're not wrong for not wanting to put a label on something you're not entirely sure about lol but yeah almost alllll that s*** is derived from gay men so that's what i would've been attempting to clear up. it's similar to how "aave" (i don't even like using that term) gets repurposed on social media. so when Bey says "I carry" on the new track, or "10 10 10s across the board, give me face" on Heated, the gays know that's specifically for THEM. no matter who's ran off with the lingo since.

Yeah I probably don’t know/listen to enough to really feel comfortable making that comment so that’s why I took it off lol

I listen to gay artists who I feel are very authentic ofc but maybe not so much “music for the gays”. I guess Act 1 connected where it’s supposed to though so it doesn’t matter if I feel like it’s forced cause it’s not for me
