Radiohead done aside from anniversary albums
They claim to still be a band
don’t be shocked when they’re in the studio after The Smile LP2 drops
Seems like a weird harsh reaction to an artists second album
What does every band have to progress with every release now
Two albums can't be similar
some peoples (pop stans ig) obsession with "eras" is annoying and i think thats kinda part of it
like people were annoyed that she made the album cover purple again and then acting like the album/era is already the same just based off that
they should follow kanye's album templates for progression he did it quite well for the first three albums
just develop the original sound further and fine tune it and then switch it up as you go along
but these pop producers are basically AI humans and just rely on formulas and proven things
Facts
The arc from College Dropout- TLOP was textbook perfect and something you very rarely see in music.

Spitting, tbh.

I watched a video that basically said they’ve had 2 different phases with Pablo Honey- OK Computer being the first and Kid A- AMSP being the 2nd one. And to me, I feel like The Smile could be a result of Thom feeling pressure to follow up AMSP with something new as Radiohead and felt creatively blocked and decided to continue making music under a different name with his band mate who wanted to still make music.
the weeknd is super obnoxious and corny with how serious he takes his "eras" too

Yes, yes, yes.
Start with “Hey, Man, Smell My Finger” since it’s hip-hop-infused, tbh.
He’s a leader of Parliament-Funkadelic, though, so there are lots of marvelous albums -- as for his solo work, I’d spin “Computer Games” as well.
Dam it's not on Spotify
Yes, yes, yes.
guy wore a red jacket and band aid on his nose for 3 years and called it an era
Dam it's not on Spotify
Oh, s***.
I forgot about that Paisley Park s***.
I’ll send it to you later on, OK?
Tomorrow.

Can an era not have more than one album in it
Online music fans expectations are starting to get crazy
Release once a year once every 2 years at most and those albums better be different enough too

It’s not something he really seemed to laser focus on until BBTM-Starboy though.

I find it fun when artist do the whole eras thing.

The Idol is genuinely one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen and I am a Weeknd fan.
That is all.

Yep, I think this a entirely true. Which is good, very healthy for my guy Thom.
