    preferably something from the 80s

    Maybe Toto

A lot of 80s artists don't have strong discographies just strong 1-2 eras/albums

Brian Wilson was Paul/John level for sure. That man was a creative genius and it’s so tragic what happened to him. He should’ve been in a different group that actually supported his ambitious ideas instead of Mike Love blocking him everytime he came with a great idea because it wasn’t “hit material”.

It's especially hard when you hate Rock/metal since those are some of the most interesting groups/artists to check out

It's true though when you think of any iconic 80s group/artist you immediately think of 1 or 2 eras

John Cusack did a good job too but he wasn’t quite as good as Paul Dano was.

Paul reminded me of Jamie Foxx in Ray. Just the way he embodied the soul and heart of Brian. The scene where he’s singing God Only Knows, my goodness!
