Ringo was a trash singer but y’all gotta understand how important he was to The Beatles. I used to think John or Paul was the glue of The Beatles, they weren’t. It was Ringo. He was the easygoing dude who played his part and did exactly what he was supposed to. A good example is in Get Back when they’re all discussing whether they should go on the roof to perform. George and John are both ehhhh on it and Paul is trying convince them and it’s not working until Ringo says HE would like to go on the roof casually. Then John immediately changes his answer and George eventually agrees.

Paul sometimes couldn’t get to stubborn George or d***ged out John but Ringo definitely could.

At least listen to this before you brush them off.

Pet Sounds/Smile doesn't sound like the beatles tbh

sounds more in love with straight pop music as opposed to rock influenced hybrid genres

A lot of the best drummers of all time will tell you Ringo was a good drummer. Worst in The Beatles? Obviously but he delivered what he was supposed to. He could be fantastic when he really tried.

For example

I didn't think the quality of the music could match the mystique but it did and I finally saw the light. Darkness masked with colorful sounds.

Only Pet Sounds, Smile Sessions and Surf's up are worth the listens
