Another Question here. Has anyone participated in a Kpop Party ? In Europe certain Korean DJs come to clubs for special events and those are always packed. For me it is the most amazing club experience ever. Kpop is perfect Club Music where people actually dance and sing along. It is a truly wholesome experience. Also as a guy too see so many girls dance the actual choreography of the makes me so happy
I truly appreciate your comment and i can agree with it. I myself am just a casual BTS listener and i understand what they did in this Kpop Generation will pave the way for the future. I felt it irl when all teenagers in my church knew BTS that this is a very important movement. I still feel you should not forget the legends of the past like we do for any other genre like hip hop , rnb etc. Kpop has this very harsh expiration date for their groups that really sadness me. That's why I felt so offended when this was trending. Even BTS themselves were a group that had it enormously hard a the beginning and everyone celebrates their story. People should do the same for other groups too. What scares me though about the BTS fandom that they may actually transcend Kpop itself... Many are BTS fans but are not necessarily fans of Kpop
As far as BTS being bigger than kpop, I would say there used to be a chance, but i dont think that anymore.
To give perspective, i was reading old posts about ppl discussing how insane kpop got in 2009. They were like "there's no way it can get bigger or better than this".
So its always hard to undestand where you are when youre in the moment.
Now, im not sure if another group will be able to play stadiums, but its kinda apparent ppl have grown out to support other groups like blackpink and the like.
I do wonder how the fandom will be affectes once jin finally enlist

Groups have always lost a good chunk of popularity after enlistment happens but I don't think it will have a massive effect on them tbh, I don't see armies moving onto another group anytime soon.
they can always promote in sub-units or as soloists anyway.

yeah there are a lot armies that constantly act as though BTS is "above" k-pop and are "real artists and not idols" and s*** along those lines, they're extremely annoying.
imagine that being the most attention you'll get ur entire career
lmao
they all the same skin tone as well, out here being racist and colorist for no reason

Smh we cancelling them?

i think its just a unique position for them
first, as i said before (in a way)- it's always hard to understand the full landscape of everything around you when youre on the ground and in the middle of it.
in my time, ive seen people think surely big bang cannot be surpassed. and then ppl thought surely theres no way exo can be surpassed. and so now here we are thinking, there's no way anyone can top bts.
but, all things come to an end. in the movie i just watched, jhope was talking about how he wont know what to do after bts is done in the way he won't know how to introduce himself. it's just weird to think there may be an end, and we might be at its beginning. it's so hard to imagine that people move on but then they just do.....
also
ill just come out and say i do think a lot of bts fans are new and ...fairweather? tbh, a huge subset of them will have been fans for less than the time they'll be incomplete in the next coming years.

i have gone to a number and tbh the only one i really found fun was the first one i went to
it was at a small intimate club/bar and they had all the videos projected onto the walls
after that, there have been more and more, but they've gotten less fun each time
i think it's cause it just turns into an impromptu talent show/random play dance now. it's like 7 people dancing, and the rest of the crowd just there watching them.
i mean, it's amazing to hear your favorites in a club and hear that s*** BLASTING, but the crowd just kills itself w just standing there and watching other people dance.
i actually have wanted to try to kill that by learning to dj and throwing my own kpop nights at the clubs but its still a dream atm.
anyway, on the subject of BREAK THE SILENCE:
thoughts:
i miss seeing them live so. f***ing. much.
the feeling of hearing jimin sing under a night sky- it is unbelievably uplifting
i see all those people in the stadiums, and my heart aches. i just don't imagine it a real possibility anytime soon. it was such a privilege.
as always, their movies and docu content are inspiring as f***.
