The best version of joker and what makes him special is he's an amalgamation of the best era of comics, and the changes in the industries tone over time.
An actually decent joker movie that depicts him as a victim would be a faithful adaptation of a serious house on a series earth.

    Still haven't watched this

  • Apr 19, 2020

You aren’t wrong based on the fact you’ve watched Taxi Driver and King of Comedy which this movie is basically both of them... there was nothing new in this movie that both of those didn’t do any better.... HOWEVER, to the people who didn’t see those films they might walk away with some type of feeling.

    Just finished it

Shot well, well acted, and was an interesting take.

Had some interesting themes that ended up feeling shallow in the end.

With all the praise it got I thought it was good. Nothing emotionally moving. Had some visual "moments"

I give it a Zack snyder out of 10

The dialogue is so unintentionally cringe it hurts. The movie is so by the numbers and generic, but it's got a lot of flashy cinematography, a great main actor, a great score, and a connection to the best superhero/supervillain of all time.

It constantly tells the audience how they should be feeling without naturally progressing you there. It's acting smart while dumbing down every idea/theme it has to its simplest and most obvious form. It's not a bad film, it's just definitely not as great as everyone is saying. The hostility the fans of this film shows to people that disagree with them only emphasizes this.

Wow this pretty much nailed it

This was not better than Watchmen

Todd Philips be sounding like "a lone wolf" ass nigga

  • Apr 19, 2020

After watching king of comedy, the influence was too obvious for a big film like joker. King of Comedy was all over this film and it has also become cliche for a movie character to hallucinate through a lot of scenes so it was pretty much nothing special. What carried this movie was Joaquin Phoenix, the cinematography and the score

Kk so you’re actually talking to a mf that read all the comics, played all the games & watched all the movies.

Man seeing this mf would actually be intimidating af.

If Joaquins joker stepped to me I’d slap tf outta him expecting to hear: “Chill bro it’s a prank! The cameras right there!”. Smh.

I strongly dislike how they mutilated the simple character which is Joker (a criminal mob boss with a twisted past) into some “V for Vendetta”-esque, revolutionary, lone-wolf “stirrer” of the people’s hearts to let their inner selves out.

If Batman met Joaquin’s joker he’d punch him once in the gut and Arkham Asylum would register a new inmate the SAME DAY.

JOKER WAS NOT A HERO. JOKER WAS NOT AN ANTI-HERO. HE WAS THE F***ING HEAD OF A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION, THAT DID CRIMES FOR PROFIT. HE HAD AN ARMY OF FOOT SOLDIERS, LIEUTENANTS & BOUGHT OFF JUDGES & POLICE.

Sorry fanboys, Joaquin did an amazing job as far as acting it out thought. Don’t worry.

Id like to see more of Leto's Joker tbh...he is def a much more 'interesting' Joker than Joaquin Joker.

Too bad he’s canned because of Ledger fanboys. That’s what happens when you do a good job I suppose

If we're talking about golden age/classic joker then that's the jack nicholson version??
Leto joker had some type of weird soundcloud rapper teenage edge angle to him. Plus he actually treated harley like they were in a relationship whereas animated series joker treated her like a battered house wife😂

That SoundCloud teenage comparison is DEAD ON lmao

You're hyping up a version of the joker that was meant to give teenage white girls ig quotes for their fantasy toxic relationships and also uttered some of the most cringe inducing lines in cinematic history😂
What type of intimidating mob boss goes out of their way to save some dumb b**** he tricked into being his henchman? Joker doesn't love harley quinn. He's a textbook psychopath

if Leger didn't die his wouldn't have impacted hollywood as much as it did either. If Joaquin died he would have instantaneously ascended into goathood.

    Lmao no.

Ledgers Joker was gonna create impact regardless.

Most ppl didnt even know who ledger was after watching the movie. Not everybody knew the names and lives of every actor.

Actually if Ledger woulda been still alive, his Joker would have been more iconic since we wouldve had him on DKR too.

    Full agree with this

Love this movie but it just throws a bunch of message and undertones and hopes one sticks with you without fully investing in one.
