maybe here and there, but mostly same thing as last year. companies looking to trim fat. one week into the year and we already have:

Prime Video and general Amazon
Twitch

Meta incoming this week
SoFi
Black Rock
Citrix
Barclays
way more i left off, but even more coming next week… these are very large amount of people being laid off at each company as well…

My company’s CTO departed after 20+ years this week
staying positive bc they sent out an invite for an internal engineering summit in my org for April and they’re paying people’s travel so I doubt they’d want to expense that if people end up getting laid off or not coming

Our GM left here last year in November to take a CTO spot at another company and they fired him end of December.

need something aimed at the average consumer.
people would be surprised how many non white-collar work people dont really use computers like that. yes, one can use chatgpt on iphone, but im still not sure that really matters. need a device that really shows utility to the average consumer.
