    Gotta throw my desire for progressive overload in the bin. I almost f***ing died and broke 10 bones 4 months ago i gotta focus on being patient and building that foundation all over again. Plus with my hypermobility I'm just asking for an injury if i push without that base.

    What would yall say are the home gym essentials?

    Got a bench, free weights, pull up rack. I live in an apartment so I feel like a squat rack would be odee. What else y’all think or I’m good?

    maybe add resit bands since you got a bar and free weights if you really wanna just do home workouts depending on what your free weights go up to maybe get more, but since you live in a condo mostly alot of them have a gym in them

    oh this i always call this bridges or w.e ya i do this it helps alot but i do it towards then end, i have been told its a good way to warm up but i do it with a dumbbells since i am still working out from home

    Yea my gym has a building but that s*** is more expensive than equinox cus you have to sign up for a package with all the other amenities that I don’t need

    That’s why I’m just tryna get a lil apartment setup. I have dumbbells up to 45 but I might get some kettle weights and resistance bands like you said and call it a day

    I need to bulk.

    Currently 118 lbs and 5’7”

    I want to get muscular, but not look super muscular with clothes on( think Jaden smith, tom holland, etc) because of how short I am and I always feel short buff guys look odd

    I also tend to gain weight in my face primarily. How do I bulk without my face become a basketball and getting a double chin

    you need to eat in a caloric surplus meaning eat more calories than your body needs to maintain its current weight

    you can find that number out by googling tdee calculator and finding your maintenance calories and then adding 100-300 calories onto that. the higher the surplus the more weight you will gain but there's a sweet spot where you'll only gain muscle and barely any fat (lean bulk). you'll avoid gaining fat in your face if you lean bulk.

    once you're eating in a surplus track your weight on the same day every week to measure changes in your weight - if you're not gaining bump up calories by 100, if you're gaining too fast drop calories.

    in terms of actually training it depends on how much experience you have thus far. if you're somewhat familiar with lifting i'd recommend running a basic push pull legs split. if not so familiar, i'd say run the 5x5 program - it will help you build a foundation of strength and familiarise you with the compound movements

    I gain weight on my face EASILY too, like I'm fairly lean but double chin and whatnot. My only advice is to grow a beard if you're that concerned over it, otherwise you can't do much about it

    Over good period of time try to gain good muscles by going on a long bulk then plan out you're cuts, you'll be off much better.

    I gain weight on my face EASILY too, like I'm fairly lean but double chin and whatnot. My only advice is to grow a beard if you're that concerned over it, otherwise you can't do much about it

    Over good period of time try to gain good muscles by going on a long bulk then plan out you're cuts, you'll be off much better.

    Eh, most amount of facial hair I can grow is a thin patchy mustache…

    Sounds insane, but I’d take being skinny over being buff and having a fat face any day

    you can workout as much as you want it all depends how tired you feel afterwords, or the next day if you r doing to many sets it could be that do 3 sets of 12 for example but low weights, if you want higher do the same 3x but like 6 sets
