I've been trying to get in shape since last summer
I dropped 70 pounds since then and I keep losing more week by week
all I've been doing is lifting weights and bodyweight exercises with a bit of cardio twice to 3 times a week plus I just got some resistance bands
and I recently got some new clothes cause all my previous ones were too baggy and could literally fit 2 people like me in em and I was amazed at how far putting in a lil bit of work steadily can take you ....and the best part is that I didnt just lose mass. Instead, where there was fat now there's definition and muscle (finally!)
I still have a long way to go to reach my goal so I'm in no place to brag. I just wanted to share my happiness and fruits of labour with you guys
and just so you know I'm grateful for every single person that works hard cause they/you are what motivates me to get off my ass and work...so thank you!!!
to ask where you live? are your gyms still closed?
I take cold showers and they make me feel warmer when I put clothes on
other than that I only get colder when I'm malnourished and the best thing that helps with that is hot cups of coffee or green tea...others prefer hot cacao or milk but it's really just preference
hot drinks help a lot tho...for example back in december I had my hoodie on with my AC on and whenever I had a hot drink I'd get warm and take my hoodie off
soups help a lot too along with spicy food.....boukovo pepper and hot paprika are dope in my opinion
I cant think of anything else right now that might help
but no, I rarely get cold
in the winter i love eating pho thats hot n spicy

to be honest I feel kind of insecure bout hitting the gym
For months I saw the gym as a necessary evil and went because I knew i should instead of actually enjoying it
But the last month or so, i wake up every day and can’t wait to go after work
such a dope feeling to see it as something I love doing now

I felt that for years, it took a major change in my life to finally get me in there

can't rt this enough
after a certain point (when I built up my fitness) I started to see a shift in how I viewed gym as well. great feeling. obviously I still have targets and goals but it's nice to know I would still do it anyway just because I genuinely like it.

Just discovered yogurt and granola is amazing to hit your calories
Easy 500 cals could eat it all day
It’s so hard to lose weight for me man
two straight weeks of no scale movement while increasing my cardio smh
Took a 2 week break from jogging because my ankle got f***ed up. Started picking up the pace last week yet I feel like I have way less stamina than before. Any tips?
Any of y’all work construction and still manage to work out? Stopped working out when I got this job cuz the construction shifts be wild like anywhere from 8-12 hours then u just get home and be dead tired and sore from doing physically demanding s*** all day. Is it even worth going to the gym while you work construction lol?

My cousin does this as well. It’s tough fam I salute you. His issue was not only that (being tired from already doing a physically demanding job) but he didn’t know how much calories he was burning at work day to day and when he tried to eat consistently it was difficult since his breaks weren’t consistent either.
He ended up getting a fitness tracker to help track cals burned then he worked around it. When he didn’t burn as much cals he went to the gym and if he did he just rested.

Try fasting and eating within a window. Also with your cardio maybe try more intensity as well. Just do something to shock your system.
Also don’t be discouraged by the scale. Have you measured your waist? Your body fat percentage? Any progress there? My weight stagnated for a bit but my clothes were getting bigger and bigger and that kept me going.
