Ya that’s good. Honestly from my experience I feel like natty lifting needs to really be fixated on intensity, atleast for the first 1-2 excercises if your workout. There’s a certain quality to the muscle (esp major ones) that you only get from lifting heavy. Haven’t really went in-depth into it so can’t break it down to u scientifically yet. But that’s what I’ve seen from experience. You get some roundness in your muscle bellies that really makes ur physique pop out. & once u downsize & trim the fat down the vascularity makes it look even more impressive. I’ll post some of my progress pics below so u can see. ThiS was during lockdown when I stopped lifting for 6 months & then 6 months after it in December when I was at my heaviest. Last one is a month ago. I still need to lose 15-20 lbs to look decent but you’ll see the progress in shear thickness when ur standing next to someone else. I think that kind of development really needs a powerlifting routine at the core of your workout

You have good shoulder/chest genetics. If u focus on those + bring up ur lats & traps a bit more you’d look sick af esp since ur waist is narrow.
Yeah i definitely know what you’re saying ive been told by a number of people that powerlifting musculature has a harder characteristic to it than just hypertrophy. I’ve always made sure to have heavy compounds as the foundation of most workout programs; deadlifts, bent over row, bench press, military press, squats, pull ups and dips. I feel like they are the most important exercises to progress on
And man your shoulder:waist ratio is crazy lmaoo you gunna look like a greek god once youve cut
Doing 3k what u eating
overnight oats, smoothies, bbq chicken with sweet potatoes, waldorf salad with salmon
you guys put your protein powder in oatmeal? i could never i just use greek yogurt
There will be another time where you can up the weights my guy, this lifting s*** is all about seasons U gonna go thru, diff seasons . this just where u at but stay w it u will see progress 🙏🏾
what you mean diff seasons? like wanting to lift more weight then deciding on wanting to cut?
Facts man. Truthfully PT has been eye opening for me and I realized that I was too focused on throwing up the heaviest weight possible but now I’m more concerned about being fit as I get older. Really trying to become more flexible, agile, and improve my dexterity
comeback season coming soon
i think i am the same way before covid all i would do at the gym is lift heavy weights an wanting to do just heavy in general, now with the gyms still closed here for a year an half now all i have been doing is lifting up to 52 pounds working at home and i feel better i am not as tired they day after or afterwords when i am done the gym, an getting older plays a part to on how you look , plus i have more energy to work on abs to

Absolutely. I think once I really reset my body and have a proper foundation I’ll still dabble in some heavy weightlifting

yea, but not too much, or the texture gets weird

try greek yogurt to, 2 spoon fulls is enough
Took deadlifts off a weak and came back and still got a weird lower left love handle area strain on my max rep set. Should I just take break from deadlifts indefinetly until this weird strain is gone
also do you guys use a belt to do squats or dead lifts
Nah. Unless ur advanced/pro level, going without a belt is going to strengthen your core
If you get to heavy lifts but you only used to training with a belt on, your core will be underdeveloped while your other muscles are stronger and that imbalance makes people snap their s*** up all the time
I’d focus on getting my numbers up without a belt
Catch me posting progress pics end of year. Hoping the 2nd half of the year is totally different than the 1st half for me lol. Anyway u looking good man and gives me hope to stay consistent like u have been.
Appreciate it bro all it takes is consistency and good habits we all gunna make it

Take a break and maybe deload on just deads when u come back to em in another week or so. If it still hurts doing that then idk tbh, even longer rest, see a doc or pt.

It was just the max rep I felt tweak finished rest of sets and workout totally fine
I firmly believe that you can eat whatever you want if you put enough work in
you just have to have the resolve to burn what you eat and vice versa
All Food literally feels like ecstasy when you’re consistently working out

Doesn't sounds too bad then. Idk if it's a muscle thing you could foam roll or get with a lacrosse ball. Still I'd just not do your max reps for a minute. Injuries suck.

how many protein shakes do you guys drink a day
.5 to 1 serving. Difference between 35g and 70g protein. Simply eating is how i get the majority of my protein and i don't need more than that extra 35g usually.
