BRO IM ABOUT TO START BJJ HOW YOU LIKE IT / HOW LONG U BEEN AT IT
It'll be three years doing it this year. To be honest i don't truly love it and I take multiple months off each year, but it's just a fun workout and the vibe my gym has is super chill compared to other places.
I don't really compete or care for the sports side, I just like it cuz I'm a fan of MMA and I'd rather not get hit in the head
I just treat it like a game and keep it fun despite probably being legitimately the worst at the gym, at least among the people who have been there awhile.
First month is a grind just adjusting to it but eventually you start landing s*** that you learn during class and it feels amazing. You'll probably get destroyed in sparring by people half your weight so get ready to tap a lot. It's a long long journey and it's easy to have an aching body so your best bet is to just keep consistent but not burn out. It does force you into a healthy lifestyle because you do everything you can to not feel like s*** during training eventually.
