Muscle soreness doesn’t have anything to do w protein intake (well not in the short term like that). It should just go away as you stay consistent with the workouts you’re doing
thinking about cancelling my gym membership and start boxing
the gym ain’t really doing it for me as much anymore after the boxing sessions
If it’s not too expensive I’d keep the gym membership or even if it is try and find a way to keep doing a couple exercises just for maintaining the gains you’ve made as well as for injury prevention
Can you get significant gains without a real routine and schedule? For instance, can you just go in, work on whatever you feel like, and make significant progress, given you have enough protein intake?

Don’t waste money on a fat pad at this point. No idea about home gym equipment but look on reddit/bodybuilding forums for suggestions And try and find them used on websites for sale.
