Diet: Keto (Surplus)
Yo, I’ve been grinding in the gym for a while (almost 9 years) and I’m seriously thinking about pursuing fitness professionally, either as a coach, influencer, or model.
I wanted to ask y’all for an honest critique of my physique, how do you think I stack up compared to some of the influencers/creators out there right now?
I’m also planning to go back to school to study fitness, nutrition, and marketing, so I want to approach this with real intention, not just vibes and fake guru bullshit
Here are a few recent pictures. Not claiming I’m elite or anything, just want real feedback.
Thanks.
Definitely think the physique is good for whatever avenue you decide to go in
got sick so i'm gonna miss this week
just as i was starting to lock in my upper/lower routine
same
Yeah fr, diabetes runs deep in my family so I’ve always treaded real lightly with my diet. I’m not full-on keto, I just try to keep things clean and balanced. I get my carbs mostly from fruits (mainly berries), unsalted nuts, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and an ungodly amount of avocados
damn well your good just keep it up is it type 1 or 2 in your family

looking good. you need to work on your v-taper and lower abs more tho
look up workouts that make you bend backwards, kinda like you were sitting on a medicine ball and reaching backwards to the ground, or like upside crunches and stomach vacuums
pretty much look up TVA muscle workouts. this is our transversus abdominus and it’s a cylinder layer that wraps around our abs that’s centered around that lower ab area. in order to target it, you gotta “stretch” your abs. when you’re done it’ll deadass feel like your lower abs are “pulling” as you walk around
trust me once you incorporate it, your abs will become even more washboard and start giving you that 6 pack look to really further separate yourself if you tryna keep up with influencers
but overall? I’d say go ahead with whatever you want to do bro. I’m 9 years in and look similar and it just gets to a point that you not going to look any much different outside of those small details you and I can see. So I’d say just dive into your ideas and let that other s*** come along the way, but I’d follow you if you start posting bro 😄👍🏾
I know you said your diet is keto surplus, but maybe a lil carbs will also make your chest appear “fuller” cause it look’s good but like it’s missing out on something compared to your other muscles. but that could also just be genetics at your level @why still looking swole and cut tho bro lmao

Ngl, I’ve hit abs the least out of everything, I’ve been trying to get back into a proper rhythm with them lately. Was thinking of doing more dynamic core work, mixing in some cardio and muscle endurance stuff on my off days to really build that area out. Definitely gonna look into TVA focused movements and lock in with the GHD machines
My chest and my lats (IMO) are probably the weakest parts of my upper body rn. My chest has always been stubborn, could be genetics, but I lowkey feel like there’s still gains on the table. I also avoided flat benching for a year and a half or so cause of a shoulder injury, so I’m kind of still playing catch up a bit. I’ll definitely try tweaking my diet a bit like you said maybe a slight carb bump will help with fullness too you never know
But yeah, I really appreciate the feedback brother
damn well your good just keep it up is it type 1 or 2 in your family
It’s type 2 that runs in my family, my pops, my grandma, and at least 4 of my aunts and uncles have or had it. I’m not taking any chances trust me lol.

hell yea bro, keep going
you dedicated
I can without a doubt tell you that in a different league compared to the average nigga at the gym
but that’s not what it’s about, but it’s good to know
Definitely get back under the bench again soon. I was dumbbells for years and now I’m strictly flat and incline bench. I also do the wide chest press machine, this will really help you too since you said you lagging in the lats area. I’d incorporate the bent over row machine that you can plate load and front lat pulldowns to get those lagging areas king

if its hereditary there is still a chance you can get it even t1 my grandfather had t2 skipped my dad then i got it at 5 then my dad got it for t2 anyone can get it even if its not in your family t2 depends on how you eat exercise etc and as we get older our bodies produce less insulin and we become more insulin sensitive
hit f***en dead lift today its funny i weigh 169-70 5'7 and can still lift normally after losing 5 pounds
Felt like absolute s*** today but we still putting hours in
i like doing facepulls but it feels to me like they dont do nothing to my shoulders unfortunately

S*** sorry to hear that, crazy how it hit you so young. But you’re right, lifestyle plays a huge part too, especially with type 2. That’s why I’ve been trying to stay as locked in as possible with diet and training. Appreciate you sharing that, for real. Keep grinding brother 🤝
Lowkey been thinking about copping some fat grips, yall ever try them?
That’s interesting, I got a few different little accessories over the years but haven’t seen those before.

the decision to go full hardcore mega bulk and pivot to powerlifting has gone into effect

The first gym I ever went to actually had those wider hex bars with the rolling handles, they were pretty solid. I’ve known about fat grips for a minute, but I’ve only seen them used maybe twice in the gym by serious lifters. Which is weird, because I’ve only ever heard positive things about them online from both new and experienced lifters. Lowkey thinking of spicing up my pull days with them, might be a hidden gem fr 🤔. I’ll give them a try and let y’all know how they hit.
