Is 10 miles HIIT on a bike and 3 miles walking/jogging on a treadmill 6 days a week an effective weight loss regime
Maybe. But if you did all that then went and drank a gallon of milk a day you wouldn’t lose any weight.
But if you added that to your regular diet then yeah you’d burn a lot more calories and lose weight
But tbh that’s a lot, especially if you spend a lot of those 3 daily miles jogging. Now you gotta make sure you eat enough calories to sustain that level of training, and that much daily jogging on a weight loss program can lead to injury which could derail everything. The other factor is how many weeks do you think you can keep doing that? You need a program you can stick to.
Now do you have any kind of lifting program? Because if not then with all that cardio you’ll lose weight but the body will shed muscle too. And are you trying to lose weight or are you really trying to lose fat?

then again, I’m a mad man and I support this just sleep a lot
it’s all up to what you enjoy and can handle. I was doing 2 a days and 3 hours of cardio during covid. You just gotta have your sleep right
pic 1 124 lbs 5’6
pic 2 120 lbs
tbh I couldn’t tell which one was supposed to be before and after. How much time went between the two pics?

I mostly walk during the 3 miles, like 85-90% of it is walking. I feel like 3 miles walking + 10 miles on a bike shouldn’t be too high risk for injury but that’s mostly why I asked in here cus I am really not all that knowledgeable
Mostly just looking to shed fat not really worried about the actual weight. I put on ~30 lbs the past year or so slacking off so I’m just tryna lock in. Also have a weight loss challenge with my brother for the next month so
I think I can stick to this tho tbh, I have always walked a couple miles most days of the week regardless, just really haven’t done it this frequently (plus the biking) in a while. But so far after 3 weeks I’m not feeling any burn out or anything

Okay yeah if it’s mostly walking then you’re fine and cyclings low impact. You can really walk damn near forever. That’s how we ran the animal kingdom we can just walk and follow our prey forever they gotta rest eventually we just keep walking and eventually get our food
The challenge is good. Gamifying the s*** is good for our modern dopamine addicted brains. If you have a fitness tracker or smart watch and set a calorie burn goal it’s fun to fill the rings and get the medals. It’s stupid but it legit helps lol

cardio most important part of the gym this time of year
guy at my gym put 20 45s on the leg press to do half inch ROM reps as fast as possible. you can't even make s*** like this up. this is up there with the guy who was barefoot stacking dumbbells on top of each other vertically around him for no reason

Was he pressing or doing calf raises on there?
But yeah leg press definitely sees the weirdest ego lifting in the gym

at first I thought it was calf raises, which is still ridiculous at that weight but you could argue about training for overload/explosiveness etc even though it's just an older guy regular that doesn't know better but no. i got closer since i wanted to use it and it was just half inch leg presses. and my gym is small so it was basically all the 45s which is what actually bothered me since i needed them, just absurd and selfish
