how does your portfolio look like? I have around 90% Eth 10% BTC, I think I should diverse a bit more but since its eth & btc are not funny anymore I won't for now. I only care about mid/long term movements

so many Crypto Youtubers act like EIP1559 will fix the Gas issues they also claim PoS is the only true solution when Layer 2 is much more important than either of those things for scaling

Layer 2 will fix most these issues, 1559 just makes it deflationary.. the fact the basefee is calculated will probably make it a little lower but its more of a fix for people putting thru transactions and having them stuck or over paying cause the gas prices are rapidly changing

it's a usablity and tokenomics improvement

Proof of Work is inefficient and it doesn't scale nearly as well as Proof of Stake

I personally believe most other PoW coins are going to fail, I think some will survive with ASICs like Bitcoin but they'll become obsolete

Bitcoin uses a ton of power but the way they calculate the power usage isn't exactly fair because it's comparing a Visa transaction to a Bitcoin transaction when the Visa transaction has another entire financial system it needs to survive that uses massive amounts power for security and is far less effective

again though PoS is so many times better than the old system or PoW
Blockchain is going to save massive amounts of power over the coming years

few years back I took class on managing corporate responsibility. My big take way was that there’s no way for us to consume 100% ethically under late-stage capitalism. I drive a fuel-efficient car, buy used clothing when possible and purchase sustainable substitutes.

Ultimately, I’m not a big player. I’m pumping a couple hundred bucks into the system for ETH gas. Relatively speaking, I’m hardly a blip on the map. My footprint is essentially null.
