I get what she’s saying. But i don’t like her implying on twitter that niggas are making excuses for why her shows don’t have predominantly black crowds. Niggas spend money on what they want. Black people aren’t even a quarter of the population despite having such a huge cultural dominance and influence. I’ve been to shows with very black acts and the crowd was very black. K Michelle and H.E.R are the blackest shows I’ve been to lol. Noname doesn’t really make music that droves of mainstream culture black people want to see live. Her music appeals to college kids. A lot of College kids don’t have extra money for concerts. I wouldn’t tell her to change her art to get a different audience but it’s just not the type of music to get the audience she wants.
