Season 3 is better than a good chunk of The Last Air Bender to me
F*** no, I’m not gonna argue this again
the firenation play of mocking aang and everyone is so funny lol
deadass my brother and i went around randomly screaming “HONORRRR” for years cuz of that episode
even the filler in TLA was f***ing GOAT
Yeah that was like what once through the 2 parter story?
It’s still a terrible justification, plus air bender villagers ask him again, and he’s like “uh it’s a long story” or some bullshit, never take responsibility and owns up
You know Aang would do that, if the writers weren’t f***ing halfassing it then Wan would be a way better character

I think you’re looking too deep on some of the dialogue my guy

No it’s just s*** writing, plus that whole arc f***s up the lore

Ok and how? I’ve already asked this and nobody has told me.

He also killed his homies who were just hutning for food

K so we see the airbenders on flying clouds?
Every early bender is gifted within the lion turtles, but that doesn’t make sense.
The quote from ATLA “before the era of the Avatar, we bended the energy in ourselves”
So you think they would be energy bending with people, or doing something like that? Nope
It’s specifically stated that the Sky Bison were the original airbenders, but we don’t see any in the origin arc. Dragons for Fire but we don’t see any, and Badger Moles for Earth.
Idk what Water was, the moon?
So seeing the Lion Turtles gifting bending, makes no sense. If they were gifted energybending and then learned bending from the others animals it would, because it would reinforce the narrative carried over from ATLA
Also that Raava Vaatu thing is so stupid, it’s just a really dumb God and Satan metaphor.
They weren’t his homies
This dude Won had no problems with the hunters. He had no relation to the spirits either. He just killed some humans cause they were trying to eat??
What the f*** kind of Avatar is that?

Yeah, right? He’s supposed to be the mediator between both worlds, not one sided to the spirits
they really silent about how LOK retconned the origin of bending
In the original show, bending was supposed to learn with genetics, martial arts, and discipline. It makes all the hard work and effort in the original show look stupid as f*** if they just had to go find a lion turtle. It ruins the magic of learning how to bend from the original animal benders.
In legends, the turtles give the fire power and all they have to do is flick a punch.

lion turtles granting bending isn’t a contradiction.
they gave humans the ability to bend
the original benders(Badgermoles, Dragons, etc) were how people learned how to bend properly.
it’s a martial art just as much as it is a physical ability. that aspect was formed by the original benders while the ability aspect was granted by the lion turtles

he was trying to protect life.
and i don’t recall him killing humans to do that. I can rewatch the episodes during my break but i don’t think he ever did that.

Yeah but see when they say “original benders” that does cause a contradiction.

The entire hunting crew was killed by the spirits or mutilated
Yeah, right? He’s supposed to be the mediator between both worlds, not one sided to the spirits
This is the first avatar. they haven’t exactly set the ground rules for what he would be about and he was trying to keep the peace between the spirits and humans.
The entire hunting crew was killed by the spirits or mutilated
yeah but you had just said Won killed them. But he didn’t, he was trying to keep the peace. Unsuccessfully but still
Also that Raava Vaatu thing is so stupid, it’s just a really dumb God and Satan metaphor.
I’ll give you this no problem
Also if the lion turtle was the true origin of bending, then people would be able to just punch and flash bending with generations of people learning how to bend from the power passed down
yeah but you had just said Won killed them. But he didn’t, he was trying to keep the peace. Unsuccessfully but still
That still technically killing them. Me leading you to your death is me still killing you lol. Not on some technicality bs

I don’t think they ever infer that anyone that was bending had completely mastered every capability with it.

No, but you should kind of think the first Avatar would be a good guy right be a good role model
I mean s*** their isn’t much you can do to make me dislike a character in two episodes. Toph’s introduction was awesome. She’s likable, relatable and funny. Also Aang, he’s likable funny but also tried to resolve things peacefully.
But Wan holy s***, this guy is already making excuses about his actions, and not owning up. I semi get what the writers were going for, have him be flawed at the start then become an Avatar, but it’s so short without any distinctive traits that I have a hard time remembering anything that he did that was positive
