Honestly you can feel a character like him missing in Korra’s first season. They tried with Bolin but he didn’t really come into his own until season 2.

watching ATLA lowkey frustrating cause you can clearly see how they can use their abilities to stop some s*** super quick but it's like they forget how to fight.

I'm biased tho because comic relief characters get boring quick and Sokka definitely becomes more comedic as the show progresses
