The Beatles are more popular than Michael Jackson. Can you please stop with your s*** threads/takes?

Even if this was true, as time goes on MJ's legacy of 50 years + as a single entity will over shadow The Beatles small run on a generational scale. They called it Beatlemania for a reason... it was a short burst of popularity which strongly affected the generation living during it... but now its gone. I can safely say the average teen my age today will not be able to name the drummer, let alone 5 songs. But all I'd have to do is flick my leg and hold my crotch and most people will recognise the symbolism, even if music isn't their thing.

MJ's career spanned a whole life expectancy and affected every decade he lived in. His longevity itself is one thing, but his peak was also numerically greater than theirs. The Beatles are hailed by nostalgic critics, more than the average person. More people know Micheal Jackson than they do The Beatles or even the individual members.

If the Beatles haven't died out with Gen Z they will never die out. I promise Gen Z kids listen to the Beatles lmao just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

The Beatles and Michael Jackson will never go away.

The average child or person doesn’t though

Rock isn’t the most accessible genre, there are plenty of demographics the Beatles don’t appeal to

Beatles fans exist, their relevancy is definitely strong but I think MJ is stronger and much more relevant these past 50 years

The average radio listening teen does not bump The Beatles outside a handful of memorable songs and Imagine (which isnt even one LMAO)

And that generational gap will only get bigger because once again, The Beatles had a moment, Micheal worked for a lifetime

Ofc they still have fans (So does Ja rule lmao) but theres levels to this and Micheal is a few ahead of The Beatles in terms of global popularity, likeness, influence etc.

na he's got a point tbh rock in general isn't as popular as other genres anymore, so they're GOATs aren't as heard or admired by the younger generations. Hell even my generation, id say 4/10 of my friends know 5 Beatles songs.

there is only one Wembley Stadium chief... the 500,000 fans number comes from multiplying 72,000 by 7.
