I think we're getting a new switch when metroid prime 4 comes out, botw2 works on the same engine as the first one and with the team working on the switch hardware they're gonna optimize it to play at least in 900p @ stable 30fps

30fps for BOTW2 is okay as long as it never goes under 30

the first BOTW has 4 main areas where the FPS is closer to 20

Gamecube controller is the best controller ever made, PS2 has the best game lineup of all time.

    #StopRecencyBias

wtf lmao the gamecube controller is a janky toy, way out of ergonomic design standards and they were never wireless lol

Gamecube controller is only optimal for one game

    bitch mob

higher end pcs are barely doing 4k 60, you expect nintendo to implement that tech??

    this is horseshit lmao

all XSX and PS5 games coming are 4K @ 60fps

i said the Switch Pro only needs to run open world games at 1080p @ 60fps and 4K @ 30fps though

the current Switch can handle Mkart and Smash running 1080p @ 30fps so obviously if they plan to sell another $400 console then it must be at least THAT MUCH stronger

mario kart and smash bros no?

but both can be and definitely have been mastered without a GC controller

    i see your point

    but you shilling for 30fps

if more people like yourself decide to come on this side and push for 60fps standards on 2020-2030 consoles then we will get it MUCH faster

the demand for better tech needs to go UP

if Pokemon Gen 9 isnt fully open world with voice acting, its gonna be slaughtered

Pokemon aint open world cause of Pokémon company pusing gamefreak to release a game every year not because of switch hardware. If dragon quest xi and xenoblade chronicles can run on switch an open world pokemon is surely possible. Blame Pokémon company not nintendo

I like the Gamecube controller, but greatest ever bro?

  • Dec 27, 2020

I like the Gamecube controller tbh, the button layout is pretty good and while it isn't as ergonomic as the DS4 or pretty much any current gen controller, it's still pretty comfortable. Definitely more comfortable then the OG Xbox and PS2 controllers back in the day

Before I bought a Switch I played BOTW at a friend's house with that 3rd party controller that's basically a Pro controller in a Gamecube shell, it was pretty good in all honsty.

paying $25 for paper mario with my best buy gift card

i think i may finally pull the trigger, worst case i don’t like it, game stop is trade in value for it is $20 cash / $25 store credit so i can virtually try it for free

problem is i’m all digital aside from 3D All Stars so if i do wind up liking Paper Mario and keeping it, i have another physical game laying around, and have to worry about getting up and switching carts/bringing them with me when i travel (first world/lazy ass problems, i know)

    i wasnt blaming dude

you gotta find the common ground

my point was that consumer standards need to be met, Nintendo wants money ya but they also care about being top tier and winning awards and all that good critical review s*** that people dont think corporations care about, and GameFreak seemed not to care at first but the tables might turn in our favor with Gen 4 remakes (non open world) and Gen 9 in 2022 or 2023

the common ground is 2020-2030 game quality increasing not staying behind the potential

Lets see what happens when they work on one hardware

i can comfortably assume that the original Switch will run BOTW2 at 900p docked and 30fps

if the Switch docked could handle BOTW1 in 1080p @ 30fps then it would have been that way but it wasnt, it's literally 180 pixels taller and 320 pixels wider

same goes for Xenoblade 2 and DE both capping at 720p docked, s***s so blurry

these are first party devs working with all the porting options possible, not some 3rd party ports

you can quote me in 6-9 months if im wrong

I see where u coming from but a handheld cant play a game like a ps5 can. I can see at best an improvent to non open world games to max at 1080p @ 60fps and open world games at 1080p @ 30fps. Still would be a lil worse than the standard now but nintendo thrives off delivering different experiences like the switch, if they started making powerful home consoles like the gamecube at the time they wont sell as much

No i agree with you that's the most it can do, what im saying tho is i ultimately dont care if i get 900p instead of 1080p, its botw we're talking about game looks still amazing in 900p.
As long as i can see 3d demons in hd in smt V im happy with this switch

    except for

a Pro can only sell for $399 USD or more if it offers 4K @ 60fps for Mario Kart and Smash (upgrade, industry standard) and 1080p @ 60fps for BOTW2 and Metroid Prime 4 (upgrade, below standard)

otherwise dont sell a Pro model until thats possible...

this is why i think Nintendo may offer a Home-only console to sell in line with the normal Switch and the Lite

and the "Switch" gimmick being that you can play the same Nintendo games no matter it you switch from true handheld to home, you couldnt with the 3DS or Wii U or anything prior

$399 USD for a home only model that is weaker than the Xbox Series S but much stronger than the 2017 docked Switch

    id buy it easily

id use my current OG model on my 1080p bedroom TV that's only 32"

id put a potential Home model in the living room on 4K with my XSX and soon PS5 and my gf has her Lite now for when we travel
