The pre late 2010s bigotry wasn't publicized because when you winning Grammies and supplying the industry (and "semi" better with your words) with hits upon hits upon hits upon hits, you have more money to keep s*** on the hush and press and folks on your good side.
Also we "normalized" a lot of s*** as fans pre-2010s if folks were to deep dive in lyrics we'd probably find a lot of red flags in the music. People were saying for decades bro was goon king watching p*** in the studios. That wasn't normal we just put it to the side.
I don't think the problem is hush money running out, Ye is choosing to make himself toxic waste that no one can attach their name to, if he had've kept his bigotry private like he has in the past (even how he did post his first public Hitler outburst) the excitement from the Asia concerts last year shows that he could've had a popular album again in a few months, who knows maybe he'll shut his mouth and come the end of the year he'll be hot again
The fact Ye posted Jeremy by Pearl Jam a few days before he got started with the bigotry is one of many meticulous actions that make me feel like getting upset for/over Ye feels like reacting to pro wrestling cause you think its real
That's not to say I think people should celebrate him because he's doing "performance art" but rather that I recognise but I'm not moved by his mental warfare tactics ...and continuing the wrestling allegory speaking up to boo him means you bought a ticket to be there for the show anyway 🙈
Cause in the same instance while censorship is wrong, that and defunding is the only semblance of recourse we have in capitalism to prove someone has bad beliefs and does bad things, it still doesn't work and isn't effective and just confuses and divides us!
