Drake literally did an interview about how he make music from a 1st person experience, he doesn't know how to concoct stories that doesn't relate to his experiences.
every artists have there niche, subject matter and sound that is particular to their art. Just let the artist express themselves however they like. if you like the product and enjoy it and support, if not pick a song for your playlist or don't listen. simple!

for me being a drake fan, i'm interested in his story because i pretty much followed from the beginning, and seeing his evolution from an outsider to an underdog to then the top guy is amazing!
And every project has been a diary of "the journey" hence why i'll always be excited for his projects.
