making music for different demographic isn't a bad thing, he's been doing this since SFG. his versatility is why he has diverse fan. his project will always be polarizing regardless

I agree but the problem is he’s been recycling the same formula since views, each of his style now sound like a continuation of the blueprint he laid down with Views

NWTS was diverse & versatile but each song didn’t follow a repetitive formula

Tuscan Leather is a perfect example, it’s literally something we’ve never heard from the ovo camp ever, the first beat is completely left field even for 40

“ took risks but people hated them “

One Dance, Controlla, Tuscan Leather, Vital, Feel No Ways, Keep The Family Close & Childs Play are all universally acclaimed songs, all in which Drake went left field

    What’re you talking about @BBeauty ???

Scorpion received hate because it was a bloated project, views received hate due to the song writing in most of his rap songs being lazy & uninspiring

Since when was Views a universally acclaimed album because all the songs you are mentioning people were dragging him for when they dropped. I remember the articles and the he’s bored and uninspired talks that surround that album, so the question is what are YOU talking about? It wasn’t that long ago some of us can remember things that happened beyond 2 years ago.

Anyway I’m done with this topic a lot of you Drake fans are insecure and go whichever way the crowd goes. A lot of you can’t have an individual opinion if it goes against the grain.

I just think Drake should move way out of his comfort zone for this album, on every level. On subject matter, on production, flows, etc. I'm not asking for a political album but I believe there are way more things he could touch on as opposed to the same old shallow bars about insta thots.

Views was dragged because the writing and the performance on most of the rap songs were weak. That holds true till today. All the pop and R&B songs were well received. People also didn't want it to be as long as it was.

What does that have to do with the discussion I’m having? It’s ok to not jump in.

Who said anything about Views being acclaimed, reread my post because you’re clearly not

I said all of the songs like Feel No Ways, Controlla, One Dance, Keep The Family Close, Child’s play, Vital & Tuscan Leather were all experimental for Drake

And those are one of his most acclaimed songs, his experimental songs never received hate

Views, ML & Scorpion only got hated because they weren’t concise

That’s a real issue that he faces due to the fact that he appeals to so many people. At this point if you’re still expecting him to cater to your particular tastes only, you need to stick to listening to his old albums.

I personally like introspective & R&B Drake that’s more my personal tastes but I don’t expect him to do an entire album of Gold Roses and Fire & Desires it’s not realistic he will have those catchy songs, he will have those club bangers expecting anything else at this stage when you know full well you ain’t getting that is setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment.

Yeah an already established genre that was never well received to begin with in the US

If Drake made a death metal song it’d be hated too, WHATS your point ?

He used a UK flow that most of his American audience doesn't appreciate. They said the same thing about the UK-inspired songs on More Life. I don't think War got hate. People just didn't care for it.

so what u saying is that drake's experimental songs do get mad hate from time to time right?

bc thats the only thing im pointing out lol. u cant just post the experimental songs that were loved and say that all of em get the same treatment without talking about the ones that didnt lol.

another experimental song that wasn't well received for u
