fallout 3 used the gamebryo engine and then obsidian got to use a clone of it for nv.

skyrim, fallout 4, fallout 76 and starfield all used creation 2

todd has said they're using a new creation 3 engine for elder scrolls 6. and fallout 5 will be with that engine too

but will obsidian get to use creation 3 to make this? you have to imagine eldar scrolls 6 will be out before this, but it'll be odd seeing the first creation 3 fallout game not be bethesda's entry, but an obsidian version. it would be like NV being what introduced us to all the engine and mechanics first instead of 3

or will bethesda give them the starfield version of the creation 2 engine and say you get to make the final fallout in this engine, and then 5 will be the new one

I doubt 5 is being actively worked on, apart from a small crew doing pre-production, and thats a maybe. Bethesda is still a single game at a time studio, cant see it coming out any earlier than mid 2030s. Fallout 3 remake is probably 2027-28, new Sawyer game early 2030s
