    lmfao this guy gets it

nigga started rapping like this on Laugh Now Cry Later and hasn’t been able to exit that pocket on any future trap beats

same s*** with his Summer Walker feature around the same time all this niggas solo R&B songs this decade just sound like they are made off of that sound but let Drake fans tell it, he’s been innovating. these niggas don’t even listen to they own favorite smdh, just want the next thing

I think fans just see minimal changes more than anybody who listens to certain artists every now and then.

Its actually dope that we have micro and macro opinions on music. Helps contextualize the reception of music.

    There’s:

    • Serious Rap Song (one long verse, no hook)
    • Crooning R&B Song
    • Island Song (or whatever the World Flavor of the Month is)
    • Turn Up Song
    • Vibey Washed Out Melodic Rap Song

Look at all of his projects this decade and majority of the songs fall into one of these categories

Even all of the Iceman singles so far fall into all of these boxes

That’s why some people really love Honestly, Nevermind because it was a drastic change from the formulas he’s become accustomed to

But this logic is flawed because pretty much every artist has a their lane?

Drake has his own lane that he’s been doing since he started. Simp. & hype music. Even HNVM is just melodic house music mixed with his traditional r&b melodies.

Like, you weirdos have some unrealistic expectations specifically for drake that no other artist has.

Cole, Travis, Future, Kendrick etc all have a lane with subject matter and song structure

There's no soul, no emotion, no nothing, just yet another product brought to you by drake to consume until the next thing drops. I know it's a leak and not an actual release, but all his singles for iceman besides what did i miss were like this so i expect nothing to change. He got nothing to rap about, no passion and s***.
Doesnt surprise me his favorite project hes worked on and his least successful is my favorite hes released this decade

I disagree. You can’t compare two albums like Mr. Morale & GNX and have all of the songs fit into five neat boxes like you can do with albums like Certified Lover Boy & For All The Dogs

A song like squabble up would sound completely out of place on Mr. Morale the same way We Cry Together would make no sense being on GNX

There not really a single song on neither CLB or FATD that would sound out of place if it was on the opposite album

I’m not saying Drake is the only artist that falls victim to this, he’s not, but Drake is closer to Future in this regard than he is to someone like Kendrick. Kendrick switches up the playbook on every single project of his

Why do Drake fans always act like he gets singled out

Plenty of rappers have received the criticism of being repetitive over the years

Guy listed loads of different sounds

Is that not versatile compared to most of his contemporaries ?

    R&b
    Rap
    House
    Dancehall
    Trap
    Pop

    Isn’t versatile?
