so is netflix just gonna abandon plans to drop this now
they already picked a date and did full marketing
he thinking he about to edit something coming out in 2 weeks?
He gon start editing day before
why does he think the doc is gonna slander him lmao
its not about this? lmao its his own image so he's completely right about that
Unauthorized docs are a thing
No way the let him get final cut on this lol critics have already seen it too

i think this is a little different because unauthorized docs usually use a combination of existing footage from multiple parties and interviews both new and old to create the doc. In this instance Kanye would literally ask Coodie to come film him for a future documentary so after that being the relationship for so many years I can understand the gripe with not getting to touch the final project

I mean I understand his gripe but they can still release this without his consent at this point.
Netflix historically really values their relationship with superstars so I could see them reaching some sort of agreement but it's really late in the game for this
three, hour and a half long episodes for 20+ years of content just didn't sound right to me tbh

ehh its possible. M.I.A for example personally filmed her life since she was a teenager through her late 30's (it was about 22 years total), gave it to a filmmaker she trusted and it turned out at 2 hours for the doc (was great too and won award at Sundance)
every moment isn't movie worthy and you have to carve out pieces that perfectly and concisely fit in the narrative you're trying to tell.
documentaries can work all different types of ways. this isn't a formal one with interviews and all that which usually add extra time
edit: actually closer to 90 minutes

Kinda sucks the most interesting and cinematic years of his life (2007-2015) are lost in the air.
I’d definitely say those eras are very movie worthy since it was his prime
