Can’t believe they skipped 808s, MBDTF, WTT, CS and Yeezus (arguably his most genius eras). They could’ve at least sourced visuals from whoever was recording during those eras. This doc was lopsided.

Seeing the KMSA footage really helps me understand Ye’s writing process. He’ll have a bunch of writers do a bunch of versions of something, but what he’s really searching for is that little bit of magic, which happens in the margins of this big thing he’s orchestrated. That concentrated rawness. The perfect imperfection.

It’s sort of like what I heard the Jackass guys say. They say that some of their most elaborate bits never work out. They’ll set up this big stunt but what they end up putting in the film is Wee-Man getting punched in the balls over in the corner when they’re f***ing around lol.

I understand if he has like 1 yes man in his circle because this is pretty normal when you‘re this big and famous but his whole circle is filled with yes mens

Damn, the real estate agent scene was real cringe. It’s sad cause those guys just see him as a clown. He seems depressed, and defensive. I feel like he’s going to have moments like that, where he’s like, oh damn, I’ve really been playing the villain my whole career. And in those moments his arrogance shifts into something much darker and less honest. But it’s moment to moment.

I think they just didn't know how to respond, the real-estate dudes were probably trying to talk business and Ye going off on a tangent they dont understand/care to understand

The rick rubin scene was hard to watch as well

Yeah, we don’t really know their character off this. They rubbed me the wrong way, but we really only have evidence of Ye’s toxicity there.

Part 3 just left me feeling sad for him

MBTF and Yeezus era too iconic to be skipped over like that. I get Coodie wasn't around Ye during that time, but damn felt pretty jarring they were glossed over.
