Digger is good?
Awesome movie.
There have been little cracks in everything Nathan has done since NFY that show him reckoning with the possibility that his whole schtick is based on using and tricking people content. This was especially evident in the child actor fatherhood simulation arc of The Rehearsal, which ends on the ambiguous note of Nathan having possibly altered a young boys perception of reality, for the sake of an HBO show and his own insecurities about fatherhood. Elizabeth then must have picked up on this about Nathan because he was clearly particularly struck by the "youd be a good father" comment she made. The Curse was kind of about this reckoning too. EH plays a game very similar to the one NF plays on NFY, which is why i think NF is so fascinated with her, and also why (in addition to being a genuinely curious artist without an agenda), he insists on hearing her out -- he kinda sees himself in her.
All true
nah yall tried to gas up that coughing baby when this is the hydrogen bomb
You sleep ….
There were so many bits in the movie that seemed significant to me that I forgot them all but thank you for bringing up that part about Holmes saying he’d be a great father — HUGELY significant
Because it indicates that she was likely being dishonest and manipulative when she told him that she had never really seen his work before
Either that or she is constantly scanning for cracks in people's psyches to flatter, and she calculated "ok this guy is a childless 43 year old man... what does he want to hear?". thats the way i saw it.
I feel like the who’s on first base scene connects back to the rehearsal S2 when Nathan was trying to prove he isn’t autistic

she has to be somewhere on the spectrum because there's no way she can be this successful, fraud or not, and have studied chemical engineering and not get that joke, even after having it completely spelled out to her. like even after nathan fully explained it to her she did not get that s***.
Both movies are messages the public needs
Fantastic year for real movie-goers in general.
was this you bro?

that didnt happen to me but that was just a day later at the exact same time crine
I think my favorite line in the film is ”you look different now… you seem more serious.”… I just love how that one line gives so much insight to the transformation Nathan has in his approach for his project. The first half before Elizabeth goes to prison, there is still very much a Nathan Fielder that is willing to make light of all of it. Not that he isn’t taking it seriously. But still, he’s willing to be like “so this is the scam machine”, “funny how I made a show about scam businesses and now we’re together”, giver her a gag gift moments before she enters prison.
The film kicking into that next level gear once Amanda is in the picture just elevated things so much for me. And you can see Nathan changing his approach on the project the deeper gets into detesting Billy. And then Amanda having the moment at the end of interrogating Nathan’s emotional objectivity plays really interestingly with “you seem more serious now”.
I also think that moment at the end with Amanda mirrors the teaser in a really fascinating way. Amanda is essentially asking Nathan if he’s being 100% honest, and Nathan (in his own Nathan way) is essentially asking “why would I deceive you”… everyone is being interrogated in this project.

Lol fact she was just like “ugh yeah…yeah okay…yeah”

I think she also really out of it cause she going to prison and she with a d\*\*\* addict
Genuinely second half carry
The nuke that is Dune 3 hasn’t even landed yet. Good golly almighty.
For all we know Billy may have gotten some profits
Yeah I don’t know if I believe he got 0\. Withdrawn box office maybe but 0 ? They conveniently just show text for that and New York Times follow up key things you would want to see proof of

It’s possible that trauma could alter her perception of reality we see this with hoarders
This movie going to make more than Digger without a worldwide release? What a year for movies.
These people are insane
On second watch, the shots of him and Elizabeth in the water are interesting. Double meaning ofc with her potentially getting her under his spell. I need to remember where it’s placed. I’d wager it’s in moments of potential delusion from Nathan. It def happens when Amanda is pressing him at the end.
